How do you get the crystals ready and active? Do they come prepared to use or do you have to prepare them in some way, such as putting them in water?

Thank you for your question.
It is always a good idea to cleanse your crystals when you first buy them. One way is to place them under running water for a few minutes, but not all crystals should go under water, due to their chemical composition. You may want to do some research to see whether yours can (Quartz-based crystals generally can; those with Moh's Hardness of 5 and below should not-- you can find the Moh's Hardness on our pages, it is listed for every crystal near the end of each page). An alternative and safe and quick method for cleansing them is through using sound.
You should continue to cleanse your crystals periodically, at least once a week if you wear them regularly, and on days when a lot of emotional issues come up or you feel a lot of negativity around you or within you :) -- you can do it daily.
