I wear a swarovski crystal pendant. Is this considered a clear quartz crystal? Does it have the same properties?
Dear A,
I must share the standard disclaimer that I am not a doctor and cannot give out medical advice. Crystals for healing should be used as a compliment to other therapies and not as a replacement for regular medical care.
Swarovski crystals are a man made lead glass. I answered this very question not long ago and I am going to post my response to that question for you to read.

While natural quartz crystals are 99% Silicon Dioxide, lead glass or lead crystals are 88% or less. They do not have the same crystalline structure of natural crystal and do not have the same vibration. When lead crystal is vibrated the structure is not stable and the crystal will weaken and many times break. The molecular arrangement of natural crystals allows it to vibrate without loosing cohesiveness.
What this all means is that no Swarovski crystals do not have the healing properties of quartz. If they are colored they have a color vibration but no other healing properties outside of color.

 You forget that all things are made of energy and contain certain frequencies to them. Thus they have the energies of glass as well as color energies related to their color due to color also carrying certain vibrations of frequencies too. Swarovski crystals bring positive energy, hope, clarity, and diffuse negative energy around the wearer, refracting the light. This is why many artisans and jewelers still enjoy using them. | At Christmas time in Sydney, a 3 story tall tree is decorated with a very large number of Swarovski Crystals. I don't know how many exactly are used. When standing near that tree last time, it had some energy associated with it, was calm and peaceful in the midst of the shopping spree. (Submitted by: celeste on June 25, 2011) |
