Here is a Question from One of Our Customers:

I've been reading a lot of the online articles on your site & have noticed people warning caution with using black obsidian because it is so powerful. I carried my "sparkle plenty" Apache tear around for about a week, then began to feel negative about it. Seemed like it was looking rather sinister one evening. I immediately cleansed it with lavender & rosewood oils & told it I couldn't keep it with me if it wasn't going to behave itself. :) Cleansed & put in sunshine every day for about a week, repeating "emotional healing" intention every time. Yesterday picking it up still didn't feel exactly right, but the deep black color seemed soothing, calming, and cooling. I'm guessing it absorbed a lot from my current depression that I'm fighting. Some say obsidian has to be buried in earth every time it's used. Do I need to do this with this little stone? I thought it was a little scary.

Hi L,
I must share the standard disclaimer that I am not a doctor and cannot give out medical advice. Crystals for healing should be used as a compliment to other therapies and not as a replacement for regular medical care.

Apache Tears is one of the more quicker stones at removing negativity. However,  it also can fill up faster then other stones. It needs to be cleared more often than other stones. Apache Tears like running water. In my experience it is one of the stones that does like it, and will not be harmed by it. Water cools the fire of the stone when over filled with negativity. Its that old saying, opposits attract. I have found that running water clears Apache tears and by the same token, Obsidian the best. If you don't have a stream or live near the ocean you can use running tap water, luke warm tap water. Never put stone directly from the sun into water, they will crack. I think you will find it gives the stone a much better and faster clearing. Just put it under the stream of water and let the water dribble over the stone for about 20mins and it will feel better. Then put it with your Citrine when you are not carrying it. Citrine gives stones a lighter, joyful, happy energy.
