i have a friend who has down syndrome and i was wondering if their are any crystals i can give him/ keep around him which would help his condition/make his life easier etc.

What a loving and supportive friend you are! Your friend is very lucky to have you :)
When doing some research to help me answer your question, I found the wonderful NDSS (National Downs Syndrome Society) website that is full of information, facts, uplifting stories and such. A great resource! Some of the first information I read was this:
Down syndrome occurs when an individual has three, rather than two, copies of the 21st chromosome. This additional genetic material alters the course of development and causes the characteristics associated with Down syndrome.
Down syndrome is the most commonly occurring chromosomal condition.
Those with Down Syndrome are not all that different from you and I. They may appear to others as being "different", but the truth is they are fully functional Divine creations of Source, just like all of us.
Those with Downs Syndrome may very well have some health challenges, such as hyperthyroidism, diabetes, etc and if you want me to list crystals for those type of health concerns, I will. However, I really feel that what you are asking is using crystals to help your friend have a happy and full life.
I think the best crystals to keep around or gift would be those that exemplify the type of love and support you have for your friend. Crystals such as
Rose Quartz,
Rhodochrosite,
Rhodonite,
Danburite, or
Morganite all help to center the energy on love, acceptance and support.
Labradorite,
Chrysoprase, or
Tiger Iron can help with issues of self esteem and inner confidence.
My favorite by far, is a gift of a Selenite Heart. To me,
Selenite expresses a Divine consciousness that says, "You are perfect and complete, just the way you are." It is a stone of acceptance, beauty and joy.
And lastly, as I was looking through the list of stones, something caught my eye. Intuition is funny that way sometimes :) Check out this
little beauty.
