Crystals for the Changing Times
By Cassie Désir
Last month we discussed the Summer Solstice and, as we have since left the sign of Gemini and entered into Cancer, we are encouraged to integrate the aspects of duality in our lives. Summer Solstice celebrates life, yet also serves as a reminder that the days will begin to grow shorter and the nights longer as we gradually move back toward fall and winter.
Lately it seems as though change is the only constant, and change has been happening at a very rapid pace in many of our lives, causing intense periods of growth in a short span of time. Gemini is an air sign and mutable, which can often lend Geminis the ability to see both sides of an issue. Being able to see multiple perspectives increases our ability to adapt to change in our lives. We could all gain from increasing our comfort with change, and Moonstone can help us to do this. Moonstone also resonates with Gemini.
The more we are able to be mindful of both sides of an issue or a problem in our lives, the better equipped we are to reframe our understanding of the issue from a more holistic perspective. This is easier said than done, because it often involves facing our fears and releasing our attachments. This can be more daunting when we are unsure as to where our obstacles lie. Your intuition will be your guide here, and now more than ever we need to consciously work toward reaching meditative states in our individual lives and collectively. Crystals that can help with reaching such states are Amethyst, Blue Kyanite, and Celestite. Celestite calms the mind to help facilitate a meditative state, while Amethyst enhances spiritual awareness and wisdom, connecting these to the physical realm. Blue Kyanite also serves as a connector between realms, which assists us in assimilating the spiritual insights experienced during meditation.
To help release any attachments that no longer serve us, Apache Tears can help us to let go. They help us to accept and release grief, removing blockages. For strength and courage in the face of our fears, Bloodstone and Ruby can be our allies. Bloodstone helps us to overcome fear and worry and find our inner strength. Ruby increases awareness of emotions and connects us to divine love, strengthening our ability to face our fears. Leo is a fire sign that also signifies power and strength. The lesson from Leo is to use our creative energy to become powerful leaders and achieve our goals. Carnelian also resonates with Leo and Virgo.
The wonderful news about all of this is that it clears up our energy to focus on manifesting what we want to create in our lives! There is a wonderful energy for manifestation this summer, and Apatite and Citrine are excellent choices to use for manifestation. Apatite helps us to bring our ideas into reality while Citrine attracts wealth and abundance.
As we move from the fiery magnetism of Leo we enter into the grounded earthiness of Virgo. What we use our energy to manifest in the world should always be in accordance with what is in the interest of the highest good of all beings. Virgo teaches us the importance of service to others. May you go forth into the coming months with strength, courage, and compassion for others.
