I have found that lately I can't sleep when I put crystals under the pillow-whereas before I had loads of them under the pillow and slept soundly? Am I just getting more sensitive to crystal energy? Is this a normal process after using crystals for some time?

Hi T:

Sorry to hear that your crystals are keeping you up at night.  There could be a variety of reasons why you are having issues sleeping with certain crystals under your pillow.  I believe that you do become more sensitive to the energy of crystals as you continue to work with them so it is possible that as you become more aware of their energies, certain crystals are not allowing you to rest.  You mentioned that your Labradoriteis keeping you awake.  Labradoriteis a very magical stone and it could be awakening some hidden things within you and that is what is causing the thoughts and images.  I love Labradoriteand have many of them but I don't really use them for sleeping or relaxation because I find them to be such an active crystal.  I was a little surprised at the Chrysoprasesince it is a gentler crystal but I think it might have been reacting to the Labradorite.  You might try using the Chrysopraseon it's own and see what happens.

For now I would suggest only keeping certain crystals under your pillow.  I would suggest Amethyst, Hematite, Lapis Lazuli, and Lepidolite.  They are all a little more peaceful than fiery Labradorite.  I would also try meditating with your Labradoritesince it sounds like it has a message for you and it will allow you to bond with the crystal.   Remember that every crystal is unique and each will react with you in a different way that will most likely change as your relationship with it grows.

Thanks again for your question, Travis, and I would love to hear back how my suggestions worked for you.  Thank you for supporting Healing Crystals.com and sweet dreams!

Crystal Blessings!

Over the past six months, I have purchased several laser crystals (for grids) and larger (6" x 6" or larger) crystals and stones because they 'reached out to me.'

They are located in my sitting room (not my sleeping room). I lay out my healing grids on top of copper sheets.

I am experiencing severe insomnia and the startup correlates to purchasing these stones. I have many different large varieties from labradorite, moldavite, Herkimer, angel aura, aqua aura, moonstone, sunstone, angelite, celestite, azurite, kyanite, amazonite, tigers eye, citrine, black tourmaline, various colored calcites, amethyst, pink quartz, malachite, lapis lazuli, aventurine, - the list goes on.

I do not have the sleeping issues when I am at a hotel.

I love my crystals / stones but am suspicious that their energy is contributing to my sleepless nights - and I mean sleepless (less than three hours a night for many months, and the time I am asleep is trance-like).

I can certainly move the crystals to another area in the house, once I purchase protective cabinets. Hopefully it will help. I don't want to give them up - aside from the energy they bring, I find them gorgeous.  (Submitted by: Chooch_07 on October 16, 2016)

I have my stones all laid out on a table in a pretty pattern that changes daily. As I head to bed I stop in front of the table and get quiet. I wait till I feel compelled to reach out and pick up a stone or two or ten. Then I put those under my pillow. It changes daily how many or what type of stone I use. I have on occasion fallen asleep meditating with a stone and woke up feeling Jangled by the energy. So I know what they are talking about.  (Submitted by: Amy Jo on August 01, 2012)
