I'm a Environmental Scientist and new to the crystal world. I have just begun working with an Amethyst pendulum. I have a combination of raw Amethyst, Citrine, Apatite, Peridot, and Black Obsidian. With these I am seeking protection and grounding along with manifestation. My question is: What additional crystals should I combine with what I already have to not only ensure my protection from the wildlife that I encounter and sometimes handle when in the field but also to be better able to communicate with various wildlife or at least have this wildlife not fear me when I am near it or have to handle it for one reason or another. I have a deep feeling that I need to be extremely grounded in order for the wildlife to not sense any anxiety or fear in me . Does that make sense?

A great protection crystal is Black Tourmaline--it works to strengthen your auric field and is considered one of the strongest grounding and protection crystals. Your intuition is guiding you well, and yes, it makes a lot of sense to want to be grounded!

While this second article talks about crystals for pets, the crystal recommended would be great for you to use to make animals more relaxed around you.
Just make sure to use relatively small number of crystals at one time when you are working with animals--perhaps black tourmaline for protection and two additional ones that you feel drawn to from the articles above, so that the energy around you is calm and balanced. Too many crystals may for some people induce a kind of buzzy feeling and may make you spacey--which would probably not be a good idea while working with wildlife!
And if you want to still have crystals for prosperity, you can make aprosperity gridfor your home, instead of having them with you.
