While Amethyst isn't one I would typically use for cancer, it is an all around healing crystal so it will be helpful. Using it can provide a calmness and sense of peace, it has the ability to attract spiritual energies to assist in healing, and can help someone who is ill have more peaceful dreams and sleep.
Some excellent crystals I would suggest for cancer would be Smokey Quartz or Green Diopside. Smokey Quartz is specifically beneficial during chemotherapy or radiation treatments. It is very grounding and encourages positive thinking. A bracelet or necklace to wear would be helpful.
The Green Diopside is one that has been widely used for those with cancer. It clears energetic blockages and allows healing energy to flow freely throughout the body. It can also aid in recuperation from radiation or chemotherapy treatments. Wear or carry a piece.
