Aloha from the Big Island of Hawaii!
I was wonderding if in one of your newsletters you might do an article on ... "How to tell the difference between - black JET - black OBSIDIAN - and black ONYX.
I have all three (tumbled stones) which now - I am not sure which one is which so I can put them back in their respective bags! HELP PLEASE! LOL!!
Certainly I cannot be the only one that has this problem! (laughing at myself because I thought I was so clever setting their bags aside... only to find out - I don't know which is which in the first place!! ) oh my!
I do love your newsletters by the way and look forward to reading them when they arrive! I am learning a lot on your amazing website!
Mahalo (thank you ) for your time!
Thank you for contacting us with your question.
I'm not sure that we'll have any new newsletter articles in the near future so I will give you my best answer here. :)
It's really difficult to tell all black (and all white!) crystals apart. Jet is easy...it's very lightweight, noticeably so, compared to an onyx or obsidian. Onyx is opaque, whereas Obsidian is more glass-like and will have some transparency if held up to a bright light.
