Question: Can pyrite be damaged by water?

Answer:

Hi,

Thank you so much for reaching out!

There are certain crystals that shouldn't be put into water.  Any stone that contains iron (like pyrite) can lose their shine or rust when put into water.  I would not say that it has likely lost its power - it just might not be as shiny as it use to.

I would personally suggest using a different method of re-tuning your pyrite (here is a list of some different methods - take a look and see if you find any that you resonate with.)

Also here is a list of crystals that shouldn't be put into water for various reasons.

I truly hope that this helps.  I hope that you are able to reconnect with your pyrite!
