Here is a question from one of our customers:
Q: I am trying to do some cures for feng shui in my home and it asks for faceted crystal spheres to be hung over certain places. I have some tear drop crystals (kinda of like what you would see on a chandelier, they are about 2 1/2 inches.) Will these work instead of going and buying the actual "balls"/spheres? I've been told before (about stones) that it is more the intent of the use than anything else. I wasn't sure if this worked the same for feng shui.
Answer:
I am going to answer your question with a question. Is your teardrop a lead crystal or a natural crystal? In feng shui they try to keep eveything organic and natural. You are right in that intent has a large part in the outcome of your attempt to create a more positive energy flow in your home. I am not a feng shui practitioner so I can not give you much more then that. Shape is not a mandatory componant in fengshui, but is only a suggestion. Use your intuition, you are the one who can best tell what you need.
Q: How can you tell if it is a lead crystal or natural?
Answer:
There are two types of man made crystal glass. One is the easiest to identify, plain glass crystal is thicker, but actually can weight less then lead crystal of the same size. and does not have that rainbow simmer of lead crystal. It looks dull, and its color is more yellowy gray tone. When chimed plain glass does not have the ring of lead glass or natural rock crystal. Lead crystal is thinner, more luminescent, and has a rainbow simmer to its surface. It is much more clear white color, but is only 80% or less of silicon dioxide Natural crystal can be water clear, inner fractures or inclusions and is 99% silicon Dioxide. When polished can have a luminescence's or rainbow simmer. Lead crystal is softer then natural crystal to make it easier to cut and shape. Plain glass and lead crystal are insulators and has no piezoelectric properties.

 Whenever I read my Chinese horoscope for Horse that comes with feng shui advice. It often tells me to work with amethyst. One year I was told to keep amethyst under my bed. Another year by my fiances in a certain place in the home with and amethyst. I had a tiny piece of amethyst. But during tax times I was having issues getting my w2 from my old job it was very stressful.
