I feel that most crystals work well together. The ones that you have mentioned, Black Tourmaline, Citrine and Rose quartz are all ones that work with each other. Protection or grounding, hope and love or relationships respectively, are great things to bring into your life. Nice choices!
Something to remember is when looking at the properties of crystals. It is less effective to put an uplifting crystal with a calming crystal and get a good result. Instead use an uplifting crystal with a Clear Quartz. Clear quartz will enhance the properties if any crystal it is placed with it.
