Here is a Question from One of Our Customers:

Q:  Hi, I have a clear quartz crystal and a lapis lazuli and was wondering how to cleanse the negative enegy out of them without damaging them? It says that depending on the stones hardness you can cleanse it in salt water. Would that be okay for a clear quartz crystal and a lapis lazuli and if not how would you recommend to do it?

Answer:

Dear D,

Cleaning crystals of different hardness does not have to be hard. The secret is in knowing your hardness scale. Most quartz based crystals can be cleared with salt. I, on a regular bases place my quartz on my salt lamp to clear. But softer stones can not take the corrosive properties of salt. It will pit, discolor and scar the surface of softer stones. There are some crystals you can not get wet, such as selenite, calcites and other similar crystals.
For those you can use smudging with incense, clearing with a crystal tuning fork, sunlight, moonlight, placing on a large crystal cluster, mixed with a handful of citrine. Clearing your crystals and stone doesnt have to be hard. When in doubt use these methods.
