Thanks for reaching out to us and great question!
Crystals work both on a metaphysical (energy) and scientific level, but they are not miracle or magical tools. In fact, you are the magic. The crystal is just the tool to unlock the power within you!
When you introduce a crystal to the energetic body by placing it on or around the body, you introduce the crystal which has a perfectly aligned and stable crystalline structure to the energetic body which may be in some sort of chaos or unbalance. The body then is encouraged to move toward stability, balance and calm.
That is their atomic structure, and on a metaphysical level, the crystals unique properties, color and collective consciousness also comes into play to bring balance to the energetic body.
It is said by creating change on an energetic level, it helps the body not manifest dis-ease on a physical level BUT it won't take away something you are experiencing. That is a misconception.
Working with crystals for healing is about intention (what you want to achieve) and then taking the time to do the actual work (action you take for the intention to happen). For instance, if you are looking to attract more wealth, you'd want to work with crystals that are associated with that (wealth) and then you'll want to begin looking at your own relationship with wealth (what stories do you hold with or against it, what habits, what is untrue and not aligned for you anymore with your own stories).
Crystals also work in a slow manner. Nothing on the healing journey is an overnight miracle. What I like to tell people and my clients is that when you go for surgery in a hospital, do you come out of the ward immediately healed? No. Energetic healing is the same thing. It takes time. Crystals help us grow, heal, develop and bloom over a period of time on our journey and as this happens, sometimes we gravitate and work with other crystals to help us on the next step of that journey.
