I was aware you could clear crystals with sound and I found that having the vidio playing quite loudly, the sound also resonated through myself which I felt had a balancing effect. Thank you it is a tool I will experiment with to see if this has the same effect on others.

It's a great article, but I feel that for beginners, it is not so extensive. Not that it is too complicated too understand, but I feel it could use elaboration and other methods.

I also think that the admins of this website/forum should each post their own personal methods in say... A blog-like sort of thing on this site. That way, as the admins think about it, they can share. I don;t see a lot of that anywhere and thing it would be very interesting for beginners or "veterans" working with crystals.

Just my opinion, I do not mean to offend. :C

Over the last few weeks, I have been hearing allot of new things going on at many other forums.. I even submitted a few questions of my own in these forums.. Some forums are healing & spiritually related. While other forums are the scientific side of minerals and crystals..

I realize that both side would never reach an agreement on what is or what can be accomplished when dealing with crystals and minerals.. True I have used this site many times in my effort to stay informed of all types of techniques. The cleansing article is very well drawn out but I still have an issue with the "Sun and Salt".

In an attempt to "not" step on anyones toes.. I wanted to suggest to many of you (even though HealingCrystals has made a small effort to say this in their posts and articles) One should never place their minerals or crystals in the sun for any length of time.. One should never cleans minerals or crystals with a salt base substance.. I found that "mineral water" (contains less salt or no salt) or "a clear running stream" (going to test this in late June, will bring back some photos)

Again this is my own personal view..

Hey Wizard,
I am totally with you on the salt cleansing technique. Salt tends to scratch or get into crevices, even remove protective coatings, etc. Of course, this is just my personal opinion :) I did write an article for healing crystals on this and did make a comment about salt as a caution, but as you say, everyone has their own ways, so all we can do is honor it and go on :)

Just to refresh, "A lot of crystals can be damaged by a chemical reaction with the salt, which may change the appearance (looking scratched or as if the finish has been removed, etc.). Many times pieces are coated with a high temperature wax (such as shoe polish). Salt is corrosive, so putting these pieces in salt or salt water actually removes this coating, which gives the appearance of scratching, pitting or a flat finish."

I agree about the sun as well.
"Putting your crystals out in the sun to cleanse is perfectly OK, just a few suggestions when you do so. Do not put in hot, direct sunlight. Some crystals may fracture with sudden temperature changes or while under intense heat. Others will fade."

I would love to hear others opinions! (and thank you for sharing yours Wizard--I love your insights!)

Kristi.. It would appear that others are more apt at writing then I am.. however I was asked by the editor of Rock & Gem Magazine to write a 2-4 paragraph article about cleaning stones and minerals.. Not "cleansing" them.. this struck me as odd and I wouldn't write anything without mentioning them both.. I submitted a question for her. and she felt that the cleaning part would be ok to publish just not the Cleansing part.. This got me upset one can not go without the other.. In light of this maybe you could submit a "cleaning" article to rock and gem magazine..

btw.. I connected with you via facebook and I've also created a number of my own pages..

Hi Wizard,
Rock and Gem Magazine is more of a geological magazine, not a metaphysical one, yes? I can see why they would only want physical cleaning information (as opposed to cleaning and metaphysical energy cleansing). Do not let it upset you :) I have written both strictly geological articles as well as metaphysical ones. I basically work with what I am asked for- it is their magazine, so they should be able to publish what they feel their readers would appreciate. :) And, it is a good way to get yourself "out there" a bit to the public as well :)

Honestly, I would not sweat it. If you prefer not to submit the article without both parts to this magazine, that is ok. Do what you feel is best for you.
