Having seen many pendulums which have a particular mineral as the weighted part, or at the very least have a bead or beads attached to the string or chain that's held, which crystals other than clear quartz would likely be energetically neutral, so that your own personal energy comes through clearly ?

and also--what would be the difference in using a different crystal?

I've always had great experiences with my quartz crystal and never even thought of using any other ones.

I will be honest, I am not sure, other than quartz, what crystals would be energetically neutral. Quartz is known to amplify the energy around it, so it would definitely amplify your own personal energy.

I do know, from my own experience, that Amethyst works very well as a pendulum because it helps to access our higher self energy and the information received would come from that source without the clutter of emotion or thought.

Rose Quartz works in a similar way as it also helps to access our higher self (unconditional love, Divine Source). Green Aventurine does the same.

I do not think that either of these in any way changes the energy, instead, i believe that they clarify our personal, higher self energy by moving all the other clutter aside, giving a more accurate reading with the pendulum.

I am very interested in what other forum members have to share here. Anyone have any experiences with gemstone pendants and how they work for you??

Hi! I'm new to the site, but have used my handful of crystals for years. I only acquire ones that seem to draw me to them. Such was the case with my one and only pendulum, a rose quartz topped with a rose quartz bead. I was shown several pendulums, but this one seemed to be surrounded by brighter light than the others. When I picked it up by the small bead, it felt as though it jumped toward me. I didn't pick her, she picked me!

When the woman found out I was a novice, she began to explain how to use the pendulum. It was as if the stone spoke to me, and I clearly heard, "No. Her ways are not my ways. I will teach you about me."

Of course, I've been told that I don't "read" the pendulum correctly. When I get another pendulum, it may work the right (?) way or it, too, might tell me how to read it. Even my dowsing rods defy the rules!!!

Has anyone else had this type of experience? Or am I the only one who has rebellious rocks and dysfunctional dowsers?

I think that, because I have to work constantly to un-block my heart chakra due to the many as-yet-unhealed wounds , the rose quartz is able to just bypass my emotional heart and go directly to my spiritual heart so that I may work from a place of pure, divine love.

loml, I have to trust that, even online, the right crystal will speak to us. Even though the one that arrives will probably not be the exact one photographed, in some way, it will speak to us through that photo. Just my opinion, but I've learned to trust my higher/spiritual self to send me what I need, when I need it.

By the way,Kristi...I love your site. It's not only teaching me about crystals, but strangely, about myself.

I love that you are tuned into your pendulum and listened to what she had to say. I always teach in my classes that there is no wrong way and no one right way. Always do what feels best for you. Crystals are wonderful tools that help us learn about ourselves. And I have to say, there is nothing wrong with being a rebel rocker....LOL
