Hi.  I have a polished Bloodstone and everytime I hold it for longer than a few minutes, I feel really weird. Is that strange? Yes, I have other crystals like Rose Quartz, Clear Quartz and Amythyst, but the Bloodstone is different. I would appreciate your input on this.

Dear E,

Thank you for contacting us with your question about the Bloodstone feeling weird when you hold it. Believe me, there is no such thing as a weird question when it comes to crystals--they continue to surprise and amaze me, even after many years of working with them!

First, I'm not sure what feeling "weird" means to you. I will assume it's not a pleasant feeling. When crystals feel unpleasant in our hand, there can be a few causes. Read them, then try to be as open and neutral as possible, and see which one(s) resonate with you. Since crystals work on an energetic level, your intuition is more valuable than your logic sometimes.

1. The crystal needs clearing--kind of like wringing out a sponge when it's full. It isn't working right, so it's prompting you to put it down rather than pick up the energy its holding. Here is some information on clearing crystals--this is usually why they feel weird or funky in your hand. But, it could also be....

2. It's trying to work on something in your energy that a part of you doesn't want to have worked on, so you're experiencing the energy as weird, or uncomfortable. Or, based on your email it's possible that....

3. You're not used to feeling crystal energy, but you happen to be sensitive to this particular crystal, so it feels weird to you.

I hope this information has been helpful to you. And of course, if you have any further questions regarding crystals or crystal healing, please feel free to contact us again.

Crystal Blessings!
