Hi Beth~

Greetings and thank you for sending in your question.  Water comprises over 70% of the human body.  It is the most basic element of life and as such, it should be treated with respect and reverence.  Anything we ingest, whether food or water, will be better for us if it carries positive energies.  To clarify this, many people do not eat meat due to the way it is processed before it gets to the grocery store.  Some people feel that the way an animal lives and dies has an effect on the energetic qualities of the resulting meat.  For example, the meat of an animal that has been raised on a free range pasture will be a better quality than that of an animal that has been raised in a factory farm in less than optimum conditions.  One could argue that the same thing can be said about water that has come from a natural spring versus water from a pressurized pipe.  It is believed that the water that comes to our homes through metal pipes flows in an unnatural way, and thus may not be carrying energies that our beneficial to our physical bodies.  

Crystals work with etheric energies, and while they cannot remove physical toxins from water, they can charge it with positive, healing energies.  Almost any crystal can have beneficial effects on water, but you must be careful not to place any stone that is soft and friable into a liquid, as it will begin to break up and dissolve.  Stones that cannot be placed in drinking water include, but are not limited to, Azurite, Lapis Lazuli, Selenite, Sulphur, and any cluster, because they can easily come off of the matrix.
