My Selenite Needs To Be Polished. How Can I Do This?

I read your article on physically cleaning crystals such as selenite and followed your recommendations. I went to Salt Plains and have some beatiful hourglass selenite crystals, but they need a small polish. How do you recommend I do this? Thank You.

Dear L,

Thank you for contacting us with your question about Selenite. Sometimes when I use my polished selenite as hand held crystals, and they lose their shiny surface. I have found that using a soft, dry cloth and rubbing along with the grain of the crystal helps bring the shine back up. I would not recommend using any type of compound as it is a very soft crystal. I also would avoid going across the grain of the crystal, as that can cause splintering.

I hope this information has been helpful to you. And of course, if you have any further questions regarding crystals or crystal healing, please feel free to contact us again.

Crystal Blessings!
