MARCH 2010 NEWSLETTER - Crystals that work with ALL of the Chakras
Collecting crystals for me has been a long time passion. When I began this "addiction" many years ago, I remember being told that I MUST have at least three different crystals of each color, so that I could utilize them on my Chakras. And so, I did as I was told. When I arrived home, I began doing some reading on the Chakras. What were they? How did they affect me? How would these crystals assist? Did I need my Chakras cleaned? Balanced? Opened? Closed? Aligned? Did the color of the crystal have to correspond with the color designated to the Chakra? Or no?
I don't know about you, but when I am unfamiliar with a concept or a topic in general, I tend to research until I am comfortable that I have a firm grasp of the subject. Did you know there are literally hundreds of Chakras (energy centers) in our body? They each spin in a specific direction and at a specific speed of rotation. The general consensus is that there are seven that are universally accepted and, for simplicity's sake, I think that is a great place to start.
There are, of course, all of the colored crystals that are common in use for placing on the corresponding Chakra to assist if it is out of balance or energetically blocked. You may have several of each color, like I do, or one favorite. In the past year, I have been experimenting with crystals that work on all Chakras, simultaneously. For instance, did you know that you can use Aqua Aura Quartz to clear and balance all of the Chakras at once? The clear Quartz is a natural cleanser and balancer. Gold is an elemental metal that performs the same function. Since Aqua Aura is Quartz infused with Gold, you have a doubly energized crystal that will bring golden/white energy in from the Universe, down through the Crown and filter through each Chakra — cleaning, balancing and correcting direction and speed.
You may want to give it a try! This will work best if you are lying down. Place an Aqua Aura crystal above your head, with the point facing the top of your crown (like it is going into your head). Place a Clear Quartz (or another Aqua Aura) at your feet, with the point facing down and away from the soles of your feet. Visualize energy coming into the point of the Aqua Aura at the crown. As you breathe in deeply, imagine the Universal energy entering the point and moving into the Crown, down into the Third Eye, slowly into the Throat area and so on, until you go through each Chakra and allow the energy to move out of your feet and into the Earth. Take as much time as you need at each Chakra. Once you have completed the series, take one more deep breath and visualize a single stream of energy moving from the crystal point at your crown to the crystal point at your feet. If you feel the need to lie still for a few moments, by all means, do so.
Using a single crystal that can work with ALL Chakras at once is perfect if you are on a budget or have limited space in which to store your crystals. It also can be quite useful if you are doing a Chakra balancing on yourself. For me, trying to do a crystal layout can sometimes be a bit challenging and quite amusing. Placing crystals on my Chakras while trying to lay still, some falling off, others moving around as I breathe — I can never seem to get them all in the right place, all at once :) Using one crystal that can do the job of seven or more individual crystals makes the experience less complicated and much more enjoyable.
It is no surprise that many of these crystals are in the clear, gold/silver or white range, as these are the colors associated with Divine, Cosmic Consciousness, Angelic connection and/or Source Energy. For instance, place a piece of White Calcite or Honey Calcite under your pillow, on your nightstand, or under the bed while you sleep. The body is more open to energy work at this time. The energies of Calcite are very gentle and will not only work on the Chakras but will also help you to get a restful and deep sleep.
Botswana Agate is an amazing piece that works on all of the Chakras at once. The pink, white and gray combination brings in the energies of Universal Love and Compassion. Hold a piece of Botswana Agate in each hand. You can sit or lay down for this exercise. Breathe in the pink light of love slowly and allow it to infuse your body (and Chakras) with its grace and healing. Visualize the pink energies surrounding each Chakra, removing any blockages and making repairs if they are needed.
Others may incorporate the colors of the rainbow in one single piece. Take for example Rainbow Obsidian, Rainbow Fluorite, Rainbow Hematite, Clear Quartz (that exhibits a colorful rainbow within), or Rainbow Aura Quartz. Each of these single pieces will pull in the rainbow energies of Source/Divine/God/Goddess/Higher Self to clean, clear, and align each Chakra in succession.
Rainbow Moonstone or Rutilated Quartz can also perform the same task by simultaneously working on all chakras at the same time. Elemental Metals, such as Silver and/or Gold are also wonderful choices.
If you cannot find the time to lay still and do the work, try wearing a Lithium in Quartz or Kunzite pendant. Add a silver or gold chain for additional energy. You can go about your day while the crystals do the work.
I think it is important to say that these suggestions are just a guideline for your consideration. We each have a unique vibrational frequency at any given time, so what works for your friend may not work in the same way for you. You may have found other crystals that work just as well or even better. As you try different crystals and different crystal combinations, take a moment to "check in" with your body and see how you feel after each session. You may even want to keep a journal that documents your experiences. It is a great way to get to energetically know yourself as well as what works for you and what does not. As always, be open and do not be afraid to experiment!
