I am sure we are all ready to bask in the warm sun after a long, cold winter. Now is a perfect time to do some "Spring/Summer Cleaning" for our bodies, minds and souls. It is also the perfect opportunity to do the same with your crystals!
The Summer Solstice, for those in the Northern Hemisphere, begins June 21, 2009 at 1:45 AM Eastern Daylight Time. What a great day this would be to honor Mother Earth with a special ritual of gratitude and cleansing.

In today's society, technological marvels are all around us. Microwaves make cooking quick and easy, computers help us to connect to information from around the world, and cell phones have become a life line to everyday work and play. We are entertained by our Wii's and Nintendo's, videos and T.V.s keep our children occupied and items like fluorescent lights and electric blankets bring us comfort. In the past 40 years, these items and others like them have grown in size and scope. Unfortunately, with our technological growth comes increased side effects from EMF.
EMF stands for Electromagnetic Fields. These are subtle energy waves that carry frequencies of 300 hertz (cycles) or less per second. Our bodies absorb this energy. Too much absorption can have an adverse effect, particularly to energy sensitive people, causing physical manifestations such as Headaches, Depression, Memory Loss, Irritability, Chronic Fatigue, Loss of Energy, and a weakened Immune System.
In this day and age, it is not possible to avoid all EMF smog/pollution and this article is certainly not being written to instill fear. Instead a positive approach is needed - with proper education and information, we can certainly minimize the side effects. Awareness is the key.
Computers were somewhat of a "fad" several decades ago, now we are literally overrun with them. Everyone has access to a computer, whether it be at home, at work, in school, visiting the library, etc. Computer gadgets can walk us through, step by step, in making a fabulous dish, learning a dance, or playing a new game. Stopping for directions is no longer necessary, as we have GPS systems that tell us exactly where to go and which way to turn.
Does anyone remember vinyl? We called them"records" back then. Today, there are MP3 players that hold literally thousands of songs in a little hand held device. On and on it goes. My point is, that electromagnetic smog/pollution is everywhere. It is a sign of the times. On one hand, with evolution there is increasing growth and knowledge, new technologies to make our lives faster, easier, and more efficient. On the other hand, we must get back to basics, to claim our health and well being.
There is an ever growing list of crystals that are provided to us to help with the issue of electromagnetic smog/pollution. You may have found your own combinations or favorites.
Use Amazonite to block and absorb all types of EMF emissions and the objects that give off these emissions. This in turn protects you from having these EMF's enter your energy field.
For cell phones, Aventurine (any color) will help to act as an EMF barrier, absorbing the energy and protecting you from it. ry taping a piece to your cell phone or wearing Aventurine earrings.
If you are around computers all day, set up a small grid using a combination of Fluorite. Blue Fluorite and/or Purple Fluorite work very well for this purpose. Wear a lovely Rainbow Fluorite pendant, necklace or bracelet.
Try sitting a few tumbled Sodalite on top of your desktop computer (or tape to a lap top) to block and clear any EMF emanations.
Place Black Tourmaline or Lepidolite under your computer screen (or between you and the screen) to help clear and protect.
Other crystals and stones that can assist in clearing/neutralizing EMF's would be Turquoise, Herkimer Diamonds, Jasper, and/or Unakite.
My all time personal favorite is a combination of natural Smokey Quartz (not the irradiated kind) and Selenite. Smoky Quartz absorbs all types of electromagnetic smog/pollution when placed between you and the source of EMF's. The Selenite clears the Smoky Quartz, the area, and you--all at the same time!
Want to deflect that radiation from your Microwave? Place Yellow Kunzite around the microwave.
Malachite is another helpful stone to guard against radiation. It also clears EMF's.
Healers across the globe have also shared how certain crystals work for them and their clients when dealing with EMF's. Cacoxenite has been used with success. One healer shared her use of Blue Kyanite to balance the electromagnetic fields. A local healing friend loves to use Smithsonite and/or Ajoite.
And ladies, Diamonds can indeed be your best friend! Diamonds block all types of electromagnetic pollution.
Experiment with these different crystals in a variety of ways to see what works best for you.
