"Crystals for the Solar-Plexus Chakra"

The next article in our chakra series is on the Solar-Plexus Chakra.  Located in the stomach area, just below the sternum or breast plate, the Solar-Plexus Chakra rules the pancreas.  The Solar-Plexus Chakra sends energy to the liver, the stomach, the gall-bladder, as well as the nervous system.  Named for the Sun, the Solar Plexus chakra is connected to the mental body (lower) and houses the ego.  The Solar-Plexus Chakra’s corresponding color is yellow, its musical note is E, and its metal is tin.  The Solar-Plexus Chakra is the seat of the will, and serves as the basis for one’s flexibility, expressiveness, and openness.

As the seat of our conscious will, the Solar-Plexus Chakra can give us the energy needed to complete our tasks and projects, which also applies to our long-term goals.  It is a member of the lower group of chakras and connects with the Root and Sacral Chakras to gain support for its own functions.  The Solar-Plexus Chakra also sends the energies of the will down into the other chakras for their own improved functioning, and acts as a bridge between the two lower chakras and the Heart Chakra.  The Solar-Plexus Chakra can help us to find an implicit sense of order in the universe by pulling higher vibrations down into the area of physical existence in the lower group of chakras.  

A properly open Solar-Plexus Chakra allows a healthy flow of energy inward to the chakra, and contributes to a generally open mind, giving consideration to all appropriate options in a situation.  It allows for proper discernment and understanding.  The healthy functioning of the Solar-Plexus Chakra brings a balance between one’s spiritual beliefs and intellectual reasoning, which can assist in the assimilation of higher insights into one’s daily life.  Good self-confidence and an outgoing personality are also functions of the healthy Solar-Plexus Chakra.

A Solar-Plexus that is out of balance or too open can be seen in those who are judgmental, demanding, and/or disrespectful.  Receiving to much energy in the Solar-Plexus Chakra can be the root cause of the workaholic.  It can also cause someone to have bad tempers and even to throw temper tantrums.  Eventually, this imbalance of the Solar-Plexus Chakra can manifest physically as a disorder of the liver or gallbladder.  Too much energy funneling into this energy center can create ulcers.

The Solar-Plexus Chakra can close up or become damaged as a response to emotional and physical trauma.  Those who have been physically or emotionally abused often end up with a dysfunctional Solar-Plexus Chakra due to the loss of personal power attributed to the event.  The closed Solar-Plexus Chakra can create issues such as close-mindedness, depression, loss of will power, which ultimately leading to physical issues such as diabetes, chronic indigestion, blood diseases, and lactose intolerance.  

The Solar-Plexus Chakra responds best to crystals that are yellow or yellow-gold in color, which send out a sunny vibration of healthy energy.  They can be worn, carried, or placed on the area of the Solar-Plexus Chakra.  Some popular crystals that can benefit the Solar-Plexus Chakra are:

Citrine (cleansing)
Sunstone (activating)
Topaz (healing)
Tiger’s Eye (balance and healing)
Amber (protective and energizing)

Citrine is a wonderfully bright crystal for the Solar-Plexus Chakra.  While it can also work with the Sacral Chakra, Citrine’s warm vibration powered by the sun cleanses the Solar-Plexus Chakra and promotes one’s personal will with confidence and understanding.  Citrine encourages an open mind with respect to spiritual matters by activating the Crown Chakra and connecting it to the Solar Plexus and Sacral Chakras.  Citrine is known for its ability to attract prosperity into one’s life via the will of the Solar-Plexus Chakra, and the creative energy of the Sacral Chakra.

Sunstone has a great affinity for the Solar-Plexus Chakra.  Sunstone supports the will and brings self-confidence and enthusiasm by energizing the Solar-Plexus Chakra.  Placing Sunstone on the Solar-Plexus Chakra can initiate the activation of this chakra, and it is very good for indigestion and ulcers.
