I received an order on 4-10-06 and I had a question about the amethyst sphere.  It is very pretty, but it has numerous small chips in the surface.  Is this standard for this item?  If so, is that the case with any type of sphere?

Thanks for your email and for your order.  I understand your concern.  As Amethyst is a natural material, the polish is not perfectly smooth like glass or plastic.  If you look at the polish in the light, you can see the minor imperfections in the finish as you mentioned.  This is the nature of polished crystals.  Some crystals polish better than others and sometimes, the polisher does a better job, but the finish is almost never “perfect” like synthetic materials.
