Really enjoying all your articles as an enthusiastic crystal therapist. My tutor said that Clear Quartz is the only crystal you can program. So, obviously reading your article regarding programming has led me to question this advice. She said we can dedicate all other stones to work for us using any of those methods in your article. But is Clear Quartz is the only crystal you can programme? Kind Regards.

Thanks so much for your question about programming crystals. I think everyone who works with crystals will have different methods and opinions about programming crystals. I do not want to say that your instructor was wrong, but in my experience you can program any crystal - with one possible exception but I'll explain that in a moment.
Clear Quartz is very high vibrational which makes it perfect for programming which may be why your instructor chose that crystal to focus the programming lessons. Different crystals carry different energies and are used for different intentions and purposes. If I obtain a Green Aventurine to bring more abundance in my life then I have already started to program it with that attention. Does that make sense? If you hold a Rose Quartz and intend for it to bring more love into your life - well you just programmed that Rose Quartz! All crystals can be "programmed" just by using them to send energy towards your positive intentions even if you don't do a formal "programming".
The exception would be crystals that are already programmed like Lemurian Quartz. Lemurian crystals have been programmed by ancient civilizations and are meant to bring us messages that will enrich our lives. Click on the link to learn more about them but since they are "pre-programmed" you may find that they have a mind of their own and are not as easy to program.
My best advice is to follow your instincts and let the crystals guide you. If a crystal feels open to being programmed then go for it. Articles, videos and instructions are meant to be a learning tool to open you to the experience of working with crystals but there are no hard and fast rules. Go with what feels right to you and you will never be wrong.
