Hello, I bought a gemstone before I checked to see if they had enhanced the color. Turns out they used radiation on it. Is there a way I can clean the poor thing, and try to remove at least some of the poison in it? Thanks for your time.

Hi S:

Thanks so much for your question. Gemstone irradiation is use to enhance the optical properties of the gemstone. The process cannot really be reversed however it does leave a yellowish tinge to the crystal that can be physically reduced by heat. You might try leaving it in the Sun and/or smudging the crystal. Just remember that heat alters the color of all crystals so if you leave it in the Sun for an extended period the color may fade.

As for it's metaphysical properties I would suggest using the energy of the next Full Moon and asking that the crystals chemically induced energy be transformed and removed and that the crystals energy be returned to its natural state. Remember that if you cannot leave it outside or if it is cloudy and you cannot see the light of the Moon that it is still just as effective and you have 3 days when the energy is strongest. The next one is on 1/23 so I would run your intention from 1/22 - 1/24.

I never would have thought to ask that question. I would never would have thought that to be a problem either. this is good to know as my new profession will put me near some small doses of radiation and I always carry some crystals in one of your pouches with me. Medicinal use only for that job.
