Good morning, Good People of healingcrystals! I read an article about the most dangerously toxic minerals that included hydroxyapatite, a form of calcium apatite. Is it related to neon and Blue Apatite and is there any reason for concern in using them? Thank you.

Thanks so much for your question about hydroxyapatite.It is actually an essential component of our bones and teeth. Hydroxyapatite Crystal Disease occurs when molecules form crystals around the bone joints causing inflammation and pain.Apatite is one of the few crystals used by biological systems - like our bodies. You would not want to ingest Apatite (through charged water, etc.) and it is always a good idea to wash your hands after handling any crystals. Otherwise Blue and Neon Apatite are not especially toxic. I always err on the side of caution and never place any crystal in water - the crystal can charge the water just as easily from the outside of the container.. I personally wear a lot of Apatite and have never had an issue. Hope this helps answer your question.
