People often discuss “clearing” their crystals and this is a great thing to do.  However, just as important, it is useful to intentionally “Activate” your crystals:

To Activate your Crystals:
1. Hold the crystal in your Hand
2. Send the Word-Thought-Emotion of “Love” into the Crystal
3. Visualize Pure and Brilliant White Light sourcing from within the Crystal
4. State a Specific Goal or Intention

The routine of Activating your crystals is quite useful and recommended when working with your stones.
