Good Evening,

I just purchased 4 items.  They are:  Tumbled Prehnite "Extra" / Labradorite Sphere / Tumbled Clear Quartz Crystal "Extra" / Tumbled Black Onyx .  The questions I have are: (1) When I store these stones, should they be kept apart from each other, and if so, how far apart?  (2) Are the effects that these stones have on each other temporary (while they are in close proximity with each other), or can one stone's qualities be permanently altered by another stone?

An interesting question, I'm sure others would be interested in.  When storing your stones, it is okay to keep them together.  Most effects of crystals on other crystals is beneficial.  I have heard that Labradorite has a tendency to wipe out all existing programs in a crystal, and I know that Carnelian is used to cleanse other crystals in a container with it.  I am personally unaware of any irreversible energetic damage being done to crystals by other crystals.  As far as I know, a stone's basic metaphysical properties cannot be altered, only enhanced or added to.
