THE PYRAMID

The Egyptian pyramids are instantly recognized throughout the world. Of the original seven wonders of the ancient world, the great pyramids of Giza are all that remain. However, they were not the first and only pyramids constructed. The building of the pyramid dates back to 4,500 to 5,000 BC and was built, not in Egypt, but in China. Pyramids in China and Greece predate the pyramids of Egypt. The pyramids of Mexico are the “Newest” of this group, as construction began around 200 AD.

Pyramids can be seen everywhere, from man made Pyramids to the natural formation of crystals, such as Apophyllite. There is even documented evidence of a grouping of pyramids on Mars.

The Pyramid has been a curiosity throughout time. Theories about its structure and significance abound. This much is known, there is a unique energy that resonates within this shape.

Physical Qualities of the Pyramid
In geometry, a Pyramid is defined as a solid shape with triangular side-faces meeting at a common vertex. Egyptian pyramids have square bases, and are therefore called square pyramids. If you cut an Octahedron in half, you will get 2 square pyramids. A triangular pyramid where each face can serve as base is also known as a Tetrahedron (‘four sides’), one of the five Platonic Solids.

Metaphysical Aspects of the Pyramid
The shape of the Egyptian Pyramids has great significance in that the Egyptians believed that the Pyramid represented the primordial mound from which Earth was created. The pyramid may also represent the descending rays of the sun (from apex to base).

The primary use for the great pyramids was spiritual initiation. The pyramids were chosen because they symbolized man's inner quest. The initiates would enter the pyramid and seek to connect with the Divine within themselves.

The most significant aspect of the Pyramid is its ability to harness higher level, vibrational energies.

Suggested Metaphysical Uses for the Pyramid
Charging your crystals inside a pyramid not only cleanses them from older, denser energies that may accumulate during use, but also infuses them with high vibrational energy—a perfect canvas for programming or healing.

Pyramids are an excellent addition to any type of grid work as well. Using crystal or mineral pyramids in a grid will gather and enhance the energies of the stones both in and around the grid. Once you have decided on the intent for your grid and the crystals that will help to enhance it, try placing a Pyramid in the middle of your grid for your primary focus. If you like, add four additional pyramids, one for each direction. You may even want to add Crystal points between each pyramid for a more intense energy.

Use a pyramid in your healing work by placing your selected pyramid on each chakra or on an area of affectation. You can also place a pyramid (or two) under your healing table to harness the energies of healing.

Quartz - amplifies energy, highly programmable
Amethyst - healing, meditation, spiritual teacher
Bloodstone - toxin removal, blood purifier, energy cleanser
Green Aventurine - Heart and emotional healing, balance
Lapis Lazuli - Purifier, clarity of communication, inner power and intuition
Smoky Quartz - elimination/detoxification, neutralizes negative energies
Red Jasper - “Stone of Health”, protects, grounds, aligns chakras
Rose Quartz - nurturing, balances emotions, unconditional love
Peach Aventurine - Meditation, calms anxiety, increases feelings of self worth

Larger pyramids, many times constructed with copper or precious metals, are the perfect size to sit inside and meditate. Like the initiates of old, the pyramid will help to connect to your inner, divine being.

Use a larger pyramid as a healing tool. Pyramids are believed to balance the electro magnetic field of the body, which can assist in cleansing and healing. They are also thought to produce negative ions, which counteracts the accumulation of too many positive ions helping to ease and/or eliminate conditions of stress, depression, tension and headaches.

Place your healing table within the space of the pyramid to access and maintain the higher vibrational healing energies. Or try inviting your Healing or Reiki circle group to participate within the pyramid when working on an individual or sending out long distance healing energies.

Closing
The pyramid is full of mystery and intrigue. Its history is well documented, its powers unique. I highly recommend obtaining at least one pyramid for your crystal collection or to add to your crystal healing tools. Hold it; focus on its shape and size. What do you feel?
