My 18-year old son's girlfriend is attending school as well as living on this campus. Unexplained happenings occur there and it is said to be "haunted'. Years ago, these same buildings were used to house and care for mentally ill patients, (an "insane assylum"). My son is very sensitive to energy fields and has, on occasion, seen 'spirit forms'. He mentioned again the other night, after visiting his girlfriend as well as most every time he is in the area, he gets tingling sensations and 'creepy' feelings. Can you suggest a crystal (or crystals) that would offer them protection? Any suggestions you may offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I have to admit, even though I am fascinated by those on the "other side" who walk among us, I can be a little creeped out by it as well! :)
Most of the time, these spirits are harmless--either their energy is attached to the location (such as a patient in a hospital who may have died there), they do not understand they have passed over or they may simply have some unfinished business and are not ready to transition just yet. Many times, those spirit forms or tingles simply means they are trying to make contact--to let us know how we can help them complete the transition. Either way, while I understand it can be a bit disconcerting, I do not feel it is anything to fear.
I would like to suggest a few things, including crystals, that may be of assistance to your son and his girlfriend (as well as the space itself).
It might be a good idea to smudge the girlfriends dorm room, stating that only energy for the those that enter and reside in the room be held in love and for the highest good. In this article

The girl friend can also place stones in each corner of her room. Crystals like

Citrine, place a piece in each corner of the room to help clear the area of negative vibrations.
On a personal note, I am a big fan of Ghost Hunters on the sci fi channel, so I would like to put this out there for you as something to consider as well. Many times, EMF (electromagnetic frequencies) spikes such as electrical boxes, wiring that runs through the walls, ceiling or floors all grouped together, can cause those feelings of being watched as well (also headaches, nausea, creepy feelings, dizziness, tingling, etc). So you may want to consider that as an alternate explanation for some of the events.
It is very possible that there are spirits there. My best advice is to send love to these troubled souls and ask for the light to present itself to them so that they may move forward.
