I wonder if you can help me. I am looking for crystals to deal with tendonitis of the elbow, commonly known as tennis elbow, a very painful condtion which is affecting most of my right arm at the moment.
I am wearing black tourmaline for the pain and having physio to relax the muscles. I feel that I want to do more for myself, because whichever crystal I use it is not healing very fast.
Please advise if you can. Many thanks.
First, I must share the standard disclaimer that I am not a doctor and cannot give out medical advice. Crystals for healing should be used as a compliment to other therapies and not as a replacement for regular medical care. With that said, let me share what I have found to be true for me (I have a similar condition).
Tendonitis, simply defined, is when tendons become inflamed and the action of pulling the muscle becomes irritating. Movement can be very painful.
I found this very interesting as I was doing my research. "It is known that tennis elbow is not simply an "inflammation" of the tendons around the joint. The problem is thought to be more of a degenerative process as a result of aging or repetitive use. The symptoms may be the result of an incomplete healing response in an area that does not have good blood flow and therefore has difficulty accessing nutrition and oxygen necessary for healing. This leads to degeneration of the tendon causing small tears." http://orthopedics.about.com/cs/elbow/a/tenniselbow.htm
So Tennis Elbow, while it is a type of tendonitis, is a bit more involved than just a simple inflammation. This means that you will have to be a bit more patient with the time it will take to heal. The most effective treatment is keeping the area stable... and time. As long as you use the elbow, it is not going to heal quickly because the action of movement will continue to irritate it.
One of my all time favorite pieces to use when dealing with issues like Arthritis, Bursitis and Tendonitis is Amber.
Amber is well known for its abilities to cleanse and purify body, mind and spirit when worn or carried. Tape a piece of Amber to the affected area or place a piece of Amber under the brace/cast that is being used to stabilize the area.
Other suggestions to keep the muscles/tendons in a relaxed state (as opposed to tensed which is what happens when we feel pain) would include Iolite and/or Stilbite.
Use Aventurine and/or Morganite to help strengthen tendons and muscle tissues, enhancing the healing process.
Amber is also a great piece to use when working to relieve and release pain. Other suggestions would include:
Take a look over the suggestions here. Click on the links and look at the pictures of the crystals. Choose those that you are drawn to — those are the ones that will work the best for you. Just remember this type of healing takes time, so try not to push it. Allow yourself the time to heal properly. You are worth it! :)
With love and crystal blessings,

Thanks for this I too am suffering from tennis elbow. I am an aromatherapist, and a Reiki Master, so need my elbows in my work. Some movements I find very painful, like turning on a tap, it's the grabbing and turning that does it. I am undergoing physio which includes acupuncture and ultrasound, but it's taking a long time to heal. I am studying crystal therapy that why I got to your site.
I will give your suggestions a go. funnily enough I was drawn to meditate with rose quartz, selenite on my elbow this morning.
