Subject: Crystals to Help with Bipolar Disorder

I am new to the use of crystals. I suffer from bipolar and depression. According to your website, Lepidolite is helpful to me. How do I choose what size to purchase and where to place it on my body? Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Susan

Good Morning Susan,

There are several crystals that can assist with Bipolar disorder, with Lepidolite being one of the best. Lepidolite contains amounts of natural Lithium. Lithium is often used in medication form to treat chronic depression and Bipolar disorder as it helps to regulate/balance Serotonin levels in the brain.

You may also want to try Chlorite in Quartz or Kunzite (which also contains trace amounts of Lithium).

The size of the piece is not really that important as it carries the same energy be it small, medium or large. I think you should choose a piece that you can comfortably carry in your pocket or lay on your body. A 1" tumble would be great for carrying and holding. A flatter piece, https://www.healingcrystals.com/Lepidolite__Extra__Grade__Mica_w_Lithium_.html, would be better for laying on the body (a tumble tends to roll off pretty easily).

I feel it would be best to place the piece at the back of the neck if you are laying down/remaining still for a healing session. Otherwise, you could carry in a pouch around your neck, in your pocket during the day, or under your pillow at night. Many would say to place the crystal on the third eye or crown area, but given the condition of Bipolar, I think this would destabilize the balance that we are looking to achieve.

I suggest you take a look at the pictures in the hyperlinks provided above and see what you are drawn to (you can never go wrong when listening to your inner guidance/intuition).

I know this condition can be challenging, but with some crystal help, I know you will find some balance :)

  Hi Alli,
Yes, for many, natural Lithium in quartz is very helpful. Just like the pill, you may have to work with the Lithium in Quartz to find how it best works for you. For instance, should you carry it around all day? sleep with it at night? Use it for only a few minutes a day? Charge water with the crystal and drink the water? Add the crystal to your bath at night? Try different things and see what works for you best. You may even want to keep a journal that you can share your experiences (and experiments) in. Pay close attention to your body when using the Lithium in Quartz. Do you feel more balanced? more in control? or does it make you feel like you are climbing the walls? does your mind slow down? or speed up? Pay attention to these things. They will help you to understand how often and for how long you need to use your Lithium in Quartz each day.

with love and crystal blessings,
