I need to gain more self confidence and stand up for myself in decision making.  And i have very over protective parents.  Is there anything you can suggest that could ease the hold they have over me?  And anything i can use to be a more self confident person?  I am in a very difficult situation regarding my future in the job industry.  I am actually going for an interview today and i am the kind of person who would let an opportunity pass because i do not wish to let people down.  I always think of others prior to thinking of myself.  I want to be a better person to myself and not let myself suffer to let others be pleased.  I know this is a lot asked for at one time, but any help / suggestions are welcome.

Regards

Greetings!

Allowing others to come before the self is a learned behavior, normally from parents, grandparents, etc. I know I was sure taught that way growing up! To pay attention to ourselves before others was considered selfish and wrong. Right? :) Well......not necessarily.........

As I matured, I realized that if I was not healthy, balanced, and complete, then I would be of no service to others at all.  So to put myself first, and others next, was a much more healthy choice all the way around.

Your parents are more than likely overprotective because THEIR parents were overprotective, etc. Of course the situations may have been different, times were different, etc, but that too, is a learned behavior, passed along for generations. I do not think you should try to change them, but I do think you can stop the cycle :)

There are definitely some crystals that can help with self empowerment, self esteem/self worth, self confidence.....
Sunstone would be my number one choice for you. It is a great piece to carry, esp on job interviews, when dealing with parents, etc. "Sunstone brings light to all situations, and carrying a piece around with you can help your personal power to "shine."  Once known as a stone of good luck, Sunstone has a bright, joyful energy that increases vitality and lightens dark moods.

Sunstone helps empower those who feel persecuted or abandoned by others, instilling confidence and optimism and encouraging motivation and positive action.  Sunstone is also useful in removing energy-draining ties to you or "hooks" into your energy by other people.

Rose Quartz would be another suggestion. Rose Quartz is all about love--unconditional, non judgmental, divine love. Rose Quartz allows us to ......well..........allow :) Your parents are who they are. Rose Quartz will help you to simply love them as they are. It will also help you to stand up for the divine being that you are. Rose Quartz will help you find ways to ease your parents over protective minds while being in the space of love. Rose Quartz is all about confidence, self esteem and self empowerment.

Others you may want to try are Carnelian, Cavansite, Citrine, Hematite, Labradorite or Lapis Lazuli.

I think it is important to remember that you are part and parcel of Divine Source (God, Goddess, Spirit, Mother Earth.......whatever you choose to call that "All") You are perfect and complete.  Find your passion. Nourish your relationships and listen to that inner voice. Trust that life will unfold exactly as it should and be a willing participant :) Just take one step at a time :) We all are doing the same dance. You are not alone :) Its all about learning and growing and it seems to me, you are doing a great job!! Keep up the good work!!

with love and crystal blessings,
Kristi
