Tumbled Leopardskin Jasper

Question:

"I purchased a ring. It is very beautiful! I think it is a leopardskin jasper or orbicular rhyolite. I was told it was a crystal. Is it a crystal or mineral? What is the difference? The seller also said the crystal picks us even though we think we choose it? Please advise. I am for choosing balance and harmony and positiveness. Does this Stone have any negative affiliation? I don't want to entertain anything that is evil or is used in negative or the occult. I think the bible speaks of jasper. Please advise or send a reference to where I can find it. Thank you for your time."

Answer:

Hi Terri,

Thanks for your inquiry. I'd first like to direct you to the link for our metaphysical directory. It's a great resourse for many crystals and stones. I've included the link below. Just enter Leopardskin Jasper and Rainforest Rhyolite into the search box to receive more information including metaphysical properties: Metaphysical Directory

Crystals are defined as a colorless transparent quartz or rock crystal. Crystals have a symmetrical internal structure with geometrically arranged planes and external faces that form patterns. Crystals have "faces" and geometrical patterns.

Rocks are formed in masses made up of minerals (usually they don't display a geometric pattern to the eye.)

Stones by themselves don't carry negative energy. Stones are energy, pure energy from the earth. We, humans, are also energy. When we're attracted to a particular object, it's just energy communicating with energy. So negative energy is really about the "perception" of how we want to experience the object or thing we're attracted to or are attracting. So, if you're attracted to the stone, trust your inner voice. It's telling you that there's a connection (energetic, subtle) between you and the stone. Open to it to experience! Have fun with it!

As far as the occult, I would define occult as hidden, secret, mysterious. To work with occult means to seek the truth about things hidden or mysterious. Many people are confused by this concept. The only thing that we fear about the occult is fear of the mysterious - that which is beyond human understanding. Have faith in yourself that you made a good choice in the stone you chose.

Love and Light to you an your new stones!
