The studies of water crystallization presented by Dr. Emoto have shown us the effects of our thoughts and emotions on the water contained in our body. We can either promote or negate health with our thoughts and emotions. The photographic evidence of the growth of water crystals three dimensionally shows us that crystalline structures are actually evolving life forms. In the same way, solid crystal and gemstone structures can help in the healing process.
Vibratory forces arising from certain stones and metals collaborate with similar forces originating within individuals to permit them to attune to the Creative Forces of the universe. In the same way [men] may receive and transmit healing vibrations, spiritualize their desires, or obtain “food” for soul development, to mention a few possibilities.

The Characteristics of Crystals
Crystals were created as the earth formed, and they continue to morph as the earth changes. They contain the “DNA” of the earth, bearing the memory of forces that shaped them. Whatever form they take, crystals can absorb, conserve, focus and emit energy.
In terms of healing, the power of crystals manifest in the way that they vibrate. As they vibrate in response to our intention, they raise our vibrations as well as those of the people we are healing. Since the practitioner is the facilitator of the healing response, it is important that the crystal be attuned to the practitioner’s energy. Therefore, it is important that you choose your crystals with care.
Choosing Your Crystals and Pendulums
In my experience, the choosing of crystals and pendulums is purely intuitive. If you allow yourself to relax and let your soul do the choosing, you will always come up with a perfect match to your vibration. Don’t be surprised to find out that crystals and pendulums will exhibit “personalities”. They may not seem like living beings, but they are crystallized manifestations of the Life Force. They have definite preferences, and if you are attuned to a certain piece, you will know it.
As you search for the “right” crystal or pendulum from among many, you will often find that certain pieces “speak” to you. As I was strolling through the streets of Assisi, Italy one evening, I had a sudden urge to step into a little curio shop. I was immediately drawn to the back corner of the shop, where a beautiful collection of pendulums and crystals were on display in a locked cabinet. A large, clear crystal pendulum caught my eye – “he” was practically begging me to take him home. After what seemed an endless amount of time, the shop owner finally finished with his customer and unlocked the cabinet for me. I “scanned” the pendulum to make sure we were a match, but I already knew that this one was going home with me. (Don’t tell the others, but “Francis” is still my favorite.)
I have often used the scanning method to confirm my choice of crystals. Using my right hand, I scan the pieces I have chosen by passing my hand palm down a few inches over the crystals. When I get a sensation like static electricity on the palm of my hand when it passes over a certain piece, I know it’s the right one. You can also “proof” your choice by picking up the piece and holding it for several seconds. If you get a warm or tingling sensation from the crystal or stone, then you know that it’s attuned to you. If not, go on to the next one. I check pendulums by holding them over my left palm: if it starts spinning very fast and wide, I know that it is attuned to my vibration.
A warning: once you begin to collect crystals, stones and pendulums, it may become an obsession. I have a large basket of crystals and stones in my office, as well as crystal points and clusters spread throughout the house. I have at least a dozen different pendulums. I have found though, that not longer after purchasing a certain piece, I have found a use for it in my healing work. So, if it is an obsession, it is a magnificent one.
Caring for Your Crystals
Once you have purchased your pieces, you need to “cleanse” their energy. There are several different methods.
-
Light bath: place your crystals in sunlight or moonlight for a few hours. Use moonlight on dark colored crystals so they don’t fade. If they do fade, their vibration will stay the same, but they won’t be as pretty.
-
Water bath: using a highly diluted sea salt water solution let your crystals soak for an hour or so. Use this method only on solid crystal forms. Certain porous formations, like silicates, may dissolve in water. You may also bathe your crystals in a lake, river or ocean. (Use a lingerie laundry bag to hold them in the water.)
-
Smoke bath: using smudge or incense, hold the piece over the smoke for a few moments.
-
Sound vibration: using a crystal tuning fork, hold the piece over the fork as it vibrates.
You will also want to cleanse your crystals after you use them for healing purposes. Crystals are meant to absorb negative energy as part of the healing process, but you will want to clear that energy so that they can be used on yourself or another client. After cleansing, allow the piece to absorb your energy by wearing it, or keeping it near you for a few days. Then store your crystals out of direct sunlight. I use a basket lined with black velvet or felt. Black is not the absence of color, but the result all colors combined. In his way your pieces will not be affected by the energy of any particular color, and will keep the integrity of their own unique vibration. It also shows them off to their best advantage (they like that).
Healing with Crystals
There is no limit to the way that healing can be accomplished with crystals. It has been difficult to whittle them down to a basic few, but I managed. The easiest way is to start with a single point clear quartz crystal. Quartz crystal is the “Master Healer”, and is good for all types of healing: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Using the crystal as a conduit, you can direct unwanted energy out of the body, and conduct positive energy into the body. Specific types of crystals can be used for differing ailments:
· Amethyst: stress, insomnia, emotional balance.
· Fluorite: headaches.
· Aventurine: mucous congestion, infection.
· Sodalite: sore throat, laryngitis.
· Rose Quartz: broken heart, heart and circulation, heavy menstrual bleeding.
· Blood stone: blood circulation, bruises.
· Selenium: migraines, epilepsy, seizures.
· Serpentine: diabetes, blood sugar control.
Remember, your intention is crucial to the integrity of your healing session. As a facilitator, you are helping the client to heal themselves. Use your intuition to choose the best crystal or crystals to use for your healing session, ask for the best outcome for everyone involved, and you can’t go wrong.
Chakra Clearing and Balancing
I find that most clients who come to me complaining of feeling “funky” simply need to have their chakras balanced. I tend to incorporate chakra balancing into most of my energy healing sessions. After asking for permission from the client, I start by checking each of their chakras with a pendulum. The pendulum will indicate the direction and speed at which the chakra is spinning. Then I use crystals and/or energy healing to balance each chakra. The chakra can be balanced by holding your dominant hand over the chakra and use your intention to encourage the chakra to balance itself. Don’t check chakras with the crystals in place: this “confuses” the pendulum.
Usually, I use crystals or stones that match the color of the chakra. Here are some suggestions:
· Crown: clear, rutilated or amethyst.
· Brow: amethyst or lapis lazuli.
· Throat: sodalite, lapis lazuli or celestine.
· Heart: aventurine, malachite or rose quartz.
· Solar Plexus: citrine or imperial topaz.
· Sacral: smoky quartz or carnelian.
· Base: red jasper, red tiger or carnelian.
Trust your intuition and use stones or crystals that you believe fit the healing needs of your client. When checking chakras, don’t forget the check the ones in the aura field (below the feet and above the head). These can be balanced using your intention and energy healing.
Scrying
Scrying is the practice of divining answers to questions, or locating items using a pendulum. A pendulum will always give an accurate answer because it reads your subconscious and your subconscious never lies. If you get an inaccurate answer, you either need to rephrase the question or assess whether or not you really want to know the answer. When you employ a pendulum for healing purposes, keep your intentions pure. Since energy healing happens on a soul level, and there is really only one of us here, we heal our own soul and well as others when we hold the intention of service. The pendulum then becomes a conduit for truth and healing.
After you have purchased your pendulum and cleansed it, you need to “program” it. Hold the pendulum by the chain in your dominant hand and let it dangle over the palm over the other palm. Ask the pendulum to show you a “yes” answer. It will spin in one direction or the other, or it will sway back and forth. Repeat the process to find a “no” answer.
A scrying chart can come in handy for getting answers. A simple “yes” or “no” chart or one that gives many possible answers can be constructed by drawing a circle and bisecting it, or by creating a “pie” chart. You can locate missing items by using a floor plan of your house, or choose a new place to locate by using a map. The possibilities are endless.
One last note about the use of pendulums: some people are very uncomfortable about them because of false beliefs instilled in them by well meaning people. The use of pendulums is not evil unless the intent of the person is evil. If your intent is to divine knowledge for the benefit of yourself and all those involved, then it is not evil.
