Crystals for Boosting Your Energy
In the aftermath of extreme physical or emotional exertion, the effects of fatigue are sure to follow. Periods of tiredness can last a few hours or, in extreme cases, much longer. And, in today's trying times with stress bombarding us from all sides – work (or lack thereof), family, children (or teenagers, in my case), physical illness, finances – it may all seem overwhelming, and our bodies and minds will, eventually, come to the conclusion that they “will shut down in 5...4...3...2...!”
Fortunately, the battle over fatigue can be overcome. There are a number of crystals that can assist you and give you that much-needed boost of energy. Generally speaking, when faced with fatigue, choose stones that are associated with the element of Fire. This element is energy personified. You'll notice, also, that stones ruled by fire are often ruled by the Sun or the planet Mars and are almost always red in color. Mars is often known as the planet of warriors. If you want to combat fatigue, you'll need to think like a warrior. That being said, the crystals in this category are Ruby, Garnet, Red Jasper, and Amber. And because fatigue may also bring with it bouts of depression and/or insomnia, Amethyst and Green Aventurine are also on the list.
Ruby is a deep red crystal that is ruled by the element of Fire and the planet Mars. This powerful energizer increases blood flow, enhances stamina, and gives you renewed energy. Use it on the sacral or root chakra. Raw, uncut rubies are much less expensive and are perfect for this type of healing. Recharge rubies using a soft cloth to wipe them down with and placing them on a windowsill at night to be charged by the stars.
Garnet is a burgundy-red stone that is also ruled by Fire and the planet Mars. Placed on the root chakra, it can improve circulation as well and increase that sense of vitality you may be missing. This warming crystal can be worn or carried in a pocket (as with all of these listed crystals) and it can be recharged even on a cloudy night.
Red Jasper is “the warrior stone”. This red stone is, like Ruby and Garnet, also ruled by Fire and Mars. It is indispensable when you need to increase stamina, enhance circulation and give a great boost of energy to the system. It is associated with the root chakra and can be recharged by passing it through a red candle's flame.
Amber, the fossilized remnants of ancient tree resin, is associated with Fire and the Sun. This fiery, golden-orange “stone” recharges your energy levels by stimulating a more positive attitude. If your emotions are running rampant due to emotional overload, place amber on the solar plexus or sacral chakra to even out those emotional stresses. It can be recharged by placing it on a sunny windowsill.
Amethyst is a calming stone for those suffering from fatigue due to emotional overload. This purple crystal is ruled by the element of Air and the planet Jupiter. It's regarded as an excellent healing stone for emotional fatigue, insomnia and headaches. It also balances blood-sugar levels and has been known to recharge other stones. Place it on your brow chakra or under your pillow at night. Of course, it can be worn or carried. Recharge amethyst by placing in moonlight, as this stone should not be put in direct sunlight.
Aventurine, although green, is a wonderful crystal for clearing away negativity, increasing optimism and bringing about a more positive outlook. It's a more gentle energizing stone, but can still encourage a renewed zest for life. It is an Earth stone and is ruled by Mercury. Aventurine is used on the heart chakra to calm panic-attacks and anxiety associated with emotional fatigue. It can be recharged by putting it in amongst the leaves of a plant during the day.
Some of you may be wondering why the elements and planets are listed with the crystal descriptions. I'll explain. Each element – Earth, Air, Fire and Water – and each planet – from the Sun to Pluto – correspond to different energies, emotions, attributes, colors, etc. Fire, for example, is associated with the color red and is used for physical strength, stamina, protection, energy and courage. Water is blue and is used for healing, relaxation, sleep, and psychic abilities. Earth is governed by green and is used for grounding, peace, stability, fertility, money and gardening/agriculture. Air is yellow and is the element of communication, travel and all things regarding the intellect. I won't go into all of the planets here, but some of those mentioned in this article were Mars, the Sun, Jupiter and Mercury. Mars is for courage, passion, protection and strength and is ruled also by red. The Sun deals with physical energy, protection, healing and success and its color is gold or yellow. Jupiter is for meditation, spirituality, success and psychic awareness and its color is purple. Mercury governs communication, wisdom, self-improvement, study and travel, and its color is yellow.
So let's take some of our crystal information and put it to some practical use. You've decided to reduce your daily intake of caffeine; how are you going to get that daily dose of energy to get you going? Grab that delicious Red Jasper! You can wear it as jewelry, carry it in your pocket, or hold it in your hand when you feel your energy draining.
Another area you may need a bit of a pick-me-up is that afternoon burn out. You've had lunch, it's early afternoon and you're about ready for a nap. This type of afternoon slump can be alleviated with your crystals, rather than caffeinated drinks or sugary snacks. Crystals that are going to boost that afternoon slump are Ruby, Amber and yes, Red Jasper. Ruby and Amber are recharging stones, and will jump-start your system. Another one to try is Aventurine, which will add a bit of optimism to the mix.
Let's try a different scenario. What if you're having trouble sleeping? You're so fatigued, you think you could sleep for a week, but your mind won't shut down. Cup of warm milk or Chamomile Tea? Perhaps some calming music and a bit of meditation? Go for it. Rose Quartz and Amethyst will also bring a more restful sleep when placed under your pillow. These are calming stones that will greatly help those with overtaxed minds and bouts of insomnia. Another stone to help you relax is Blue Lace Agate that, when held in your hand, will help your whole body to relax. It will also improve the quality of your sleep, as will the crystal Iolite, which also helps with headaches, eyestrain and mental stress, by calming those overtaxed nerves.
So, whether you're a marathon runner or just running through the minefield of every day, I hope one or more of these crystals will enable you to combat your fatigue and bring you peace and energy.

Both the Full Lunar and Solar Eclipse are amazing displays of beauty and energy. They also affect each of us, whether it be a subtle energy shift or a more recognizable, intense surge of feelings, in a very unique way.
When speaking of any astrological event, the first thing to take into account/consideration is your own astrological sign and natal chart. Those with Sun signs will be affected differently than those with signs of water, etc. As a Cancer, I am totally energized, almost "high" when a Lunar Eclipse occurs. Those with Sun signs may feel quite the opposite.
The same goes for Solar Eclipses. Using myself as an example again, as a Cancer (Moon Child), I tend to find myself much more anxious during Solar Eclipses. Again, it should be noted that to really gain a true understanding of how Lunar and Solar eclipses affect you personally, you will need to know where this astrological event falls into your personal chart. Information such as what sign the Lunar/Solar Eclipse falls under, what house in your personal natal chart is affected, etc.

So, how does a Lunar Eclipse, especially the Total Lunar Eclipse affect us. Lunar (Moon) Energy in general is a very maternal, nurturing energy. As the Earth, Moon and Sun become perfectly aligned, the Full Moon becomes covered by Earth's shadow. During this time, the Lunar energy of the Full Moon is effectively "blocked out" and may cause feelings of fear, anxiety and/or abandonment.
During this time, relationships may come into question and/or there may be an increase in emotional intensity. However, this is only for a very brief time, during the complete black out of the Full Moon. As the Full Moon begins to light up again, you will find this heaviness and intensity slowly lift and dissipate.
The partial Lunar Eclipse may present the same type of feelings, but since the Moon is not totally covered, the degree of these feelings will not be as strong or intense.
If you are sensitive to these type of energies, let me recommend a few crystals that you can hold or work with during the Full Moon's "black out". These crystals can help ease the momentarily reduced energy of the normally loving, nurturing, mothering energies we associate with the moon.
Rainbow Moonstone helps to soothe and calm overreactions and the propensity to be overly emotional.
Pink Calcite (Manganocalcite) transmits mother energies of giving life, nurturing and love which can replace/renew the nurturing, maternal energy of the Full Moon while it is sheilded by the Earth.
Hold a piece of Howlite to reduce anxiety, tensions and stress. Howlite can be used to facilitate awareness, encourage emotional expression and assist in the elimination of pain, stress and/or rage. Howlite will calm and soothe the emotions.
Lepidolite reduces stress, relieves fear and anxiety. Lepidolite helps to soothe the feelings of being emotionally overwhelmed.
If you find yourself momentarily in a place of fear, make sure to have Chrysocolla, Jet, or Black Tourmaline handy.
Solar Eclipse
Solar energy is quite the opposite. It enhances the energies of father, protection and external expression. A Solar Eclipse not only affects the energy of the Sun, but also the Moon! A Solar Eclipse occurs when the New Moon is between Earth and the Sun. The Moon's energy is very strong because it is extremely close to the Earth during this eclipse. The Sun energy is also very powerful as it embraces the Moon, showing only a glowing ring of bright light during the peak of the event.
During a Total Solar Eclipse, the Sun's light, associated with warmth, life force, and creation is temporarily blocked out. During these moments, feelings of lack, fatigue, anxiety and a disconnection with life/life force may occur. Again, this is only for a brief time as the New Moon totally blocks out the light of the Sun.
During a Total Solar Eclipse, if you are more sensitive to the energy of the Sun, you can use these crystal recommendations to keep the energy of the Sun present, even during the Eclipse event.
Imperial Topaz represents life giving energy. It promotes well being, strengthens optimism, reduces fear of lack, and enhances the feelings of abundance and prosperity.
Sunstone warms the heart and lifts/rejuvenates the spirit. Sunstone is often used for protection, grounding and enhancing life force energies.
Citrine is particularly helpful in assisting with abundance and prosperity. It enhances the enjoyment of life and increased spiritual growth. Citrine energizes and invigorates, increasing motivation and physical energy. Citrine dissipates negative energies and promotes inner calm.
Ametrine is a combination of Citrine and Amethyst. It disperses negativity from the aura and fills the voids with the energizing and stabilizing qualities of pure energy and light.
Closing
The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse and the Total Solar Eclipse are a Universal reminder of the cycle of life and the energy that surrounds us. These events shed a great deal of light on the energies each holds. One thing is certain, no matter what the energy or event, there will always be a crystal to help achieve balance and center.

How to Drill Your Own Stones
We often receive requests for information about drilling through stones and crystals so they can be used for jewelry or hanging.
Although this is a relatively easy home project, there are a few things that you need to know before starting this process. First, assess whether the stone is hard enough to be drilled through without breaking. Check for cleavage (a smooth, clean break producing what appears to be a flat crystal face), internal fractures (common breaks within the crystal) or crazing (work of fine cracks on the surface of a material). If you see any of these, you will probably not be able to drill a clean hole through your crystal.
For such a project you will need a special drill bit, called a "diamond" drill bit. These actually contain microscopic diamond chips which are used exclusively for drilling ceramics, glass, marble, stone, granite, tile, etc. You will also need to have water handy not only to keep the drill and rock cool, but to remove bits and pieces from the rock as you drill. You will want to invest in a Dremel Rotary Tool. This is a miniature version of a normal handyman drill with specialized bits designed for more exacting lapidary work.
Make sure you wear protective glasses as well as a protective mask. The dust from some of these rocks (like malachite, etc) is harmful when inhaled.
Here is a simplified version on how to drill a hole in a cabochon (a shaped and polished gemstone), but it would work equally well for a tumbled stone.
Step 1 — Fill a medium sized bowl with water. Make sure the bowl is large enough for you to hold the stone under water.
Set the bowl on a level, water resistant work surface.
Step 2 — Identify where you would like the hole to be on your cabochon and mark with a fine point permanent marker.
Make sure you do not drill too close to the edge of the stone.
Step 3 — Hold the cabochon under the water in the bowl. Using the carbide drill, slowly drill the hole in the identified spot.
** You may want to use an alternate process: place the stone in the water, then take it, drill for about five to ten seconds, before pulling the drill out and submerging stone in the water again, repeating the steps until completed.**
Step 4 — Once the hole is drilled through the stone, you can flip it to drill through the same hole on the other side.
Step 5 — Rinse the cabochon in clear water and dry with a soft towel.

Stepping Stones to Crystal Basics
Beginning your journey with crystals can be confusing and a little overwhelming; it seems there are so many crystals, and so much to learn! Many of us, when first starting to learn about crystals will be utterly engrossed: finding books about crystals, and reading up on the pieces you already have, while making lists of the stones you feel you should be adding to your collection.
For the beginning collector, there are also questions about how to care for your new collection, and how to use them. Collected here are some of the most commonly asked questions about caring for your crystals.
Question: How should I carry my stones?
Answer: Any way you would like.
Jewelry -- A nurse friend did not want to call attention to herself as one of “those people" at work. She would wear pretty crystal earrings, a stone bracelet or a gemstone pendant. Wearing crystal jewelry allowed her to discreetly keep the crystal energy around her at all times without being judged by her closed-minded coworkers. To be most effective, stones should touch the skin and wearing jewelry is a perfect way in which to do this.
Clothing -- A friend once told me she always carried stones with her to work... in her bra! She laughingly told me that if she put them in her pocket, she had a tendency to lose them, else she would take them out and forget where she had put them. I have known men to stick a stone in their sock.
Alternatively, you can use a small pouch for your stones. Silk and/or velveteen are my favorites. The pouch can go in your pants pocket or jacket, and your crystals are less likely to fall out when they are in a pouch too.

Bowl of Crystals -- A friend of mine used to work at a men's correctional facility. She began putting a bowl of tumbled stones on her desk. She soon noticed that she was much calmer and less stressed at work, but also that the inmates were drawn to her bowl of stones and would often choose a stone as they were talking to her. Shortly after, she began gifting the stone of choice to the inmate that chose it.
Another longtime friend had a bowl of stones on a table close to her door. Before she left each day, she would choose one stone and give an intention to the stone. The stone went into her pocket and off she would go to work as a social worker. For example, if she chose Rose Quartz as her "Stone of the Day", she would say something to the effect of, "Today, I carry with me the loving energy of Rose Quartz. My intention is to show love to everyone I meet this day." If someone was upset and yelled at her, she could put her hand in her pocket and hold the stone, reminding herself of the intent she had chosen, and loving energies of the rose quartz. If she heard gossip from coworkers, she would walk away and again touch the stone to remind herself of her intention.
Question: Is it alright to carry more than one stone at one time? Will they all "get along"?
Answer: Absolutely!
I know of friends who carry pockets full of stones, wear stone jewelry, have stones in the car and on their desk at work — all at the same time! How few or how many stones you carry is truly a personal preference.
And yes, all the crystals will "get along" just fine. Crystals are full of loving, divine energy; they work in concert with each other — always.
Care should be taken though to make sure that if you are carrying more than one stone in your pocket, that they are not a mix of softer stones like Selenite, Celestite or Calcite and harder stones. The softer stones may get chipped, dented or dinged by the harder stones.
Question: How long should I carry a stone for the maximum healing effect?
Answer: You can carry your stones for as long as you wish, or as long as you feel they are still working for you.
Many times, folks will change out their crystals, choosing to carry one or a few for one week and then making a different selection for the next week, etc. If you want to carry the same stone(s), I would recommend cleaning them at the end of the week to remove any energy they have stored up. Use your favorite cleansing technique, and reprogram them with your intentions so they are ready for the following week.
Question: Why do I need to clean (cleanse) my crystals?
Answer: Crystals absorb the energy around them. Cleaning is a way to remove the dense, negative energy that accumulates within.
Crystals absorb your energy and the energy around them. They comfort you when you are sad, angry, hurt, ill, etc. Sometimes, they just need a good cleaning to remove all of this dense energy (negativity, illness, sadness, etc) to make them new and fresh again.
Question: How often should I clean my crystals?
Answer: When you "feel" they are no longer working well. They may feel dense or less energetic.
My best answer is let your intuition be your guide. However, if you are just starting out and do not yet completely trust your intuition, here is a good guideline. If you use a stone daily, it should be cleaned once a week. If used once or twice a week, clean monthly. If the stone has been placed in your home, sacred space or healing room to be used to collect negative or unwanted energies, once a month will be fine. If you feel it needs to be done sooner than that, then follow your intuition.

Question: What exactly does programming a crystal mean?
Answer: For me, it is simply placing your intent into the crystal.
The ritual can be as detailed or as simple as you like. I have been known to simply hold the crystal and say, "I could really use your help with something."

Question: What crystals should I start my collection with?
Answer: There are no wrong crystals!
As long as you are comfortable listening to your intuition, choosing crystals you are simply drawn to is absolutely fine… there are no wrong crystals. When choosing a crystal, hold it in your hand and see how it "feels". Does your hand tingle or feel warm? Using your intuition and choosing those that you are drawn to is exactly right.
It is also okay to research by metaphysical property, color or availability.
Question: What crystals are good for a beginner’s collection?
Answer: Although there are no wrong crystals, it is good to have a range of healing crystals.
Although there are no wrong crystals for a beginner’s collection, it is nice to build a collection on some good "all-round" stones. Some basic recommendations include Clear Quartz (a good all-around healer), Amber (protection), Hematite (grounding), Malachite (healing), Amethyst (consciousness), Black Tourmaline (protection), Rose Quartz (for healing and unconditional love), Lapis Lazuli (intuition), and Carnelian (creativity and harmony).

ORGONE - What is it? How does it work?
Orgone energy was an idea that was originally proposed and promoted by Dr. Wilhelm Reich in the 1930s. This form of energy is often better known as universal life force or chi; Dr. Reich ultimately felt that Orgone could best be described as a massless, omnipresent force. Dr. Reich worked extensively with Orgone and felt that this energy could be harnessed and used in a variety of ways. It has subsequently been used for therapeutic healing, and also in devices known as Cloudbusters. These Cloudbusters use harnessed Orgone energy to stimulate rainfall, or to disperse harmful chemtrails. This amazing energy can be found everywhere — from the smallest microscopic units to massive structures such as huge clouds or even entire galaxies of this life force energy.
I must admit, before taking on this article, I knew little to nothing about Orgone, what it was or how it worked. I was fortunate enough to be able to talk at length with two researchers of Orgone, Ross Purvine and Don Croft.
Ross Purvine has long researched the effects of Orgone, and its positive benefits on the atmosphere, including its use as a Cloudbuster and for eliminating chemtrails.
Don Croft, with his wife Carol Croft, after studying Orgone extensively on the Internet, worked with a substance called Orgonite, a combination of catalyzed organic fiberglass resin with inorganic metal shavings. Orgonite was first created in 1991, but was further developed in 2000 by Carol Croft with the addition of crystals; this mixture of resin, metal shavings and crystals created an effective device to collect, transmute and emit beneficial Orgone energy.
Kristi: What exactly is Orgone?
Don Croft: Orgone is the term that Dr. Wilhelm Reich introduced in the late 1930s for the same phenomenon that is traditionally described as prana, ch'i, animal magnetism, life force, ether, etc today.
Ross Purvine: Orgone is the blue hue around all things. Amazingly enough, the blue sky is Orgone! Orgone energy enhances the life force of everyone and everything around it — plants, animals, insects, the whole planet.
Kristi: I have read and heard the name Reich mentioned often in various YouTube videos and written articles. Is he considered the "Father" of Orgone?
Don: He is; Dr. Reich was Sigmund Freud's protégé until the former began curing mental illness in the 1920s, after which Freud blackballed him. Einstein was also initially excited by Reich’s evidence of the existence of the ether, but then he too blackballed Reich, evidently because his own work denied the influence of this ether (Orgone) on physics. Reich was wrongfully imprisoned, and then evidently murdered by the US Government in the 1950s after which his legacy was erased from public record. We like to honor him by using some of his terminology and we credit him with providing the basis for subsequent discoveries in this new science: the exploration of subtle energies.
Kristi: How does Orgone work?
Don: Orgone seems to be the underlying, vital matrix of the physical universe — a mostly untapped reservoir in terms of human technology.
Kristi: What can Orgone do to help us? It is reported that Orgone has been used to transform the environment, improve weather, and improve plant growth and the quality of water. It helps to dissolve harmful chemtrails and mitigate the harmful effects of EMF and EMR radiation.
Ross: If you put Orgonite (the mixture of resin, metal shavings and crystals, which helps harness and emit Orgone) in your garden, the Orgonite actually repels the harmful pests and weeds and gives you a huge luscious garden. The most popular use for Orgone is to break up harmful chemtrails. The earth is being bombarded with heavy spraying by jet planes. These long white trails criss-cross in a web pattern, like the Hopi prophesized about with 'spider webs in the sky'. This spraying has earned the term 'chemtrails'. Sylphs, or cloud angels, are a healthy result of having a Cloudbuster. Since I put my Chembuster on the patio, I now see the Sylphs go into action immediately breaking up and dissolving the chemtrails almost as quickly as they are being made whenever the jets fly by, spraying their toxic brew upon the neighborhood. It's almost as if the sylphs are alive and protecting the whole space above me and my chemtrail buster. It's fascinating to see.
(I was fascinated by the work of Don and Carol working with quartz crystals in Orgonite. This combination greatly increases its useful range against the negative radiation from cell towers. Being a crystal lover, I wanted to know more).
Kristi: Is there a specific type of quartz crystal that you recommend using in Orgonite? Does quartz from one location better than another? (Tibet? Lusa? Brazil?)
Don: The use of specific gems, crystals, coil forms, metals and shapes in Orgonite is for personal, interactive items. Carol maintains a blog site to tell how to combine various gems and other components to create certain healing effects, to enhance awareness, provide protection, encourage prosperity, and so on: crystalinsights.net. The sky is the limit for this, since Orgonite (the simple combination of metal particles and catalyzed resin) enhances and even multiplies the effects of these components. A talented person, or someone following the instructions of a talented individual, can achieve phenomenal results with this 'interactive' Orgonite.
Kristi: How does one know that Orgone is working? I have seen a few YouTube videos that show Cloudbusters breaking up clouds, but are there other physical manifestations one needs to be aware of?
Don: This is mainly felt. Since Orgone is subtle energy, the mind cannot understand the effects but the heart and body can. Sometimes the effects are visual, as when Orgonite devices are used to clear the smog from a major city (examples of this are Los Angeles, Tokyo, London, Paris, Berlin, Rome, Mexico City, Toronto, Santiago, New York, Miami, and Chicago) or when a desert has been reversed, as happened in the Kalahari six years ago. One can also clear up polluted water — it takes a week or so to see the water become clean — such as was done along many polluted coasts in Europe, North America, South America and Asia, and some of the American Great Lakes.
A simple test is to put an Orgonite device under one's nose and experience an immediate expansion of the lungs. It's also useful to hide Orgonite in an emotionally toxic work or home environment and notice the immediate improvement in ambiance and behavior.
Kristi: Can Orgone be harmful in any way — to humans, animals, plants, etc?
Don: This material is absolutely harmless. There are variations of Orgone, though, that are harmful such as the dark energy that's broadcast from the 'death towers' and weather warfare apparatuses around the planet. All of this is easily transformed into life force-generating transmitters with some Orgonite, placed nearby. Many thousands of people are doing this now. Ethericwarriors.com is set up to record some of this work, and also to inform and inspire people to get busy with it. People who see subtle energy as auras note the many colors it can affect. The more harmful forms of Orgone are seen as reddish, to brown and even black; when you see smog, you are seeing the effects of this. Orgonite changes that into healthy life force, which some see mainly as sky blue. Variations of the healthier Orgone are also seen as green, indigo and violet.
Kristi: Don, I believe I read the Chembuster is of your own design. How does this differ from the Cloudbuster? Or does it?
Don: Carol and I designed the first Orgonite Cloudbuster in December 2000, and built it a couple of months later (we never liked the term, 'Chembuster'). Within a couple of years, many thousands of people had built or bought an Orgonite Cloudbuster. We gave the design away because we wanted the information to be disseminated quickly. Enough people were upset about the chemtrails in those days that enough of these were built over a wide enough area to essentially neutralize that poisonous campaign. You still see chemtrails but it's obvious that they don't come to the ground any more, but merely seed long clouds that drift across the sky until they dissipate."
And finally, I wanted first hand knowledge from someone who has created their own Orgone pyramids and Cloudbusters, so I asked Ross to share some of his experiences.
Ross: I had an Orgone pyramid I made; it only has about a 5" base, but to me it’s big. One night I decided to sleep with my pyramid right next to me in bed. When I woke the next morning, my eyes were still closed and I could feel the pulsing of my pyramid next to me. It was like a heartbeat I could feel and hear, but it made no sound. Now I am sure it was my heartbeat the pyramid was synchronizing to, sending me healing energy. I think it’s brought me up in vibration because I don't feel that pulse anymore. This Orgone pyramid has Tiger Iron and Carnelian mostly, and one Selenite also for keeping it powered up. Carnelian keeps fear and anger away and keeps the unit clear, and the Tiger Eye is fantastic for character strength. Tiger Iron is made up of three stones. One of those stones is Hematite, a very protective stone that dispels any negativity coming from the outside.

My brother-in-law was just diagnosed with ALS. What crystal would be good for him?
Good Morning,
Blessings to you and your family during this challenging time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
In my research, those who have ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig's disease) are mainly affected by muscle control, strength and coordination issues. For most, this is a gradual process, with symptoms appearing over time. The five senses, understanding/comprehension, etc all stay fully in tact and are not affected. Of course, I must share the standard disclaimer that I am not a doctor and cannot give out medical advice. Crystals for healing should be used as a compliment to other therapies and not as a replacement for regular medical care.
With that being said, I want to address three main issues here — motor function (control, strength, coordination), brain function and nerve cells.
If I was to recommend a single crystal that I felt would be the most helpful in this situation, it would be Amber. Amber alleviates pain, strengthens tissues, aids in cell rejuvenation and assists in treating brain function disorders.
Danburite increases muscle tone and motor function (control, strength and coordination).
Kunzite and/or Lepidolite can help to treat disorders of the muscular system.
To address the nerve cells located in the brain that are thought to cause this issue, I would recommend Lapis Lazuli which can help to improve brain function, or Stilbite which treats a variety of brain disorders.
For the nerve cells themselves, Aragonite can stimulate healing while Manganocalcite heals at the cellular level. Chrysoprase is also recommended for system cell rejuvenation.

My mother is recuperating from pneumonia. She's having difficulty with swallowing and aspirating food/water. Deep breathing is also an issue with her at this time. Is there a crystal I can give her to assist with swallowing & opening her breathing passages? I've also been told that speech therapy is needed. Lately I've been drawn to Lapis, but are there other crystals I could bring to her?

Green Fluorite or Rainbow Fluorite (with some green in it) is highly recommended for those who have or are healing from pneumonia. Green Fluorite is one of the best crystals to use in order to heal infections, especially those of the lungs. It is also good to help treat any lung related illness/disease.
Bloodstone can help with lung congestion by removing toxins, easing the difficulty that breathing may present at this time and healing the breathing passages over time.
Amber can be used when one has lack of breath issues or not being able to breathe deeply. Amber also is a wonderful piece to use for throat issues (in this case, swollen and inflamed throat).
Amazonite, Green Calcite, Chrysocolla, and/or Peridot can help to remove infection and restore healthy lung function.
Kunzite and/or Morganite can help to clear and treat many lung conditions.
Rhodochrosite and/or Rose Quartz can also help with respiratory issues.
For your mom's throat issues, I would suggest some Angelite. It can help to ease the inflammation, helping to reduce the swelling that is currently making it difficult to swallow.

Despite the title, the archangels in this last installment of this series are by no means less important than the previous, greater archangels. The lesser archangels are still powerful beings in their own right. They are angels of specific energy forms and inspirational guides. Although their numbers vary, the following are the most common: Ariel, Azrael, Haniel, Metatron, Raguel, Raziel and Sandalphon. Some, like Metatron and his twin brother, Sandalphon, used to be human. Some of these angels have ruling planets while others, such as Raguel, rule weather phenomena. Each of the archangels however, has crystals associated with him/her. Be sure to click on the crystal's name to obtain further information.
1. Ariel is the archangel of Nature. This is another archangel who may be male or female. My intuition is going with female, but you can decide for yourself. Ariel means “Lion of God” and she is ruled by Saturn, the element of air and is best called upon on Saturday. Ariel heals animals, both wild and domestic, and generally all of nature. She is guardian over the nature spirits, such as faeries and elves, sylphs and undines. Ariel's associated crystals are Apatite, Agate (especially moss and tree agates) and Jasper (such as the leopardskin and dalmatian varieties). She is patron of veterinarians, breeders, archaeologists, civil engineers, and animal rescue workers.
2. Azrael is the angel of life's natural cycles – living and dying – and of journeys. He is ruled by Tuesday, the planet Mars and the element of earth. Azrael's name means “Whom God helps” and he is most often helpful during times of grief and bereavement. Crystals associated with Azrael are Yellow Calcite, Amethyst, and Purple Fluorite.
3. Haniel rules Fridays and the planet Venus, as well as the element of water. Haniel's name means “Glory of God” and he is the angel of the West wind, growth, love and healing (especially alternative medicine). He can be called upon for matters dealing with children, marriage, artistic endeavors, natural preservation and music. Haniel's crystals are Rose Quartz, Pink Calcite and Chrysoprase.
4. Metatron, who was formally the prophet Enoch, is now head of the Akashic Records, or God's archives. He is the angel of Thought. Metatron rules Sundays, the element of Fire and the planets Pluto or the Sun. He presides over all our guardian angels and often appears with a scroll and pen. Metatron, though an imposing angel, is quite gentle, often helping children who have passed over. He may be called upon when you are changing to a new path in life, learning opportunities, and helping children with learning disabilities. Crystals linked to Metatron are Sardonyx (which is banded onyx), Mahogany Obsidian and Red or Orange Aventurine.
5. Raguel is the archangel of snow and ice. He also governs the behavior of the other angels. He carries a flaming sword that he may use to melt the snows of winter. Raguel's name means “Friend of God” and he creates harmony and understanding in relationships that may be experiencing discord. Raguel's crystals is Milky Quartz and Moonstone.
6. Raziel is the archangel of Secrets and the mysteries of life. His name means “Secret of God” and he is guardian over mystical knowledge. He often appears in shadow, as a misty fog and may be called upon for psychic learning, dream interpretation, the cause or root of an illness, spiritual understanding and using natural resources wisely. Raziel's planet is Neptune, his day of the week is Saturday and his element is Air. Raziel is patron of astrologers, scientists, clairvoyants, and even Secret Service workers. His crystals are Peridot, Apache Tears, and Aqua Aura Crystals.
7. Sandalphon was Metatron's twin brother, the prophet Elijah. His name means “Brother” and he is considered one of the Seraphim. Sandalphon is the archangel of Power and he oversees strength, prosperity and beauty. He gives us the joy of living and is also given the task of looking after unborn children. He may be called upon for issues concerning pregnancy, fertility and birth. Sandalphon also helps release emotional blocks, fear, guilt and aggressive tendencies. This angel is the patron of musicians, journalists, nurses, pediatricians and midwives. The planet Jupiter rules this archangel, as does the element of earth. His day is Thursday and crystals linked to Sandalphon are Turquoise and Calcite (any variety).
I hope that you enjoyed our walk through the angelic realm of the archangels. It was quite a challenge for me, but the knowledge I gained in writing this series has been invaluable. If you're like me, you'll be keeping sticky notes all over about which crystal is linked to which archangel, etc. Remember this, though: if you don't yet have a particular crystal, don't panic. Clear Quartz crystal is a fine substitute. And always go with your “gut” feeling.
Asking the angels for help is something that brings them joy. It is, essentially, what they are here to do. And if you call upon an angel on a day of the week other than what is attributed to him/her, it doesn't matter all that much. After all, our concerns, illnesses, problems and fears don't pick a particular day of the week to manifest. If you want to call on an angel, please do so. I must share the standard disclaimer that I am not a doctor and cannot give out medical advice. Crystals for healing should be used as a compliment to other therapies and not as a replacement for regular medical care.
First, let us start with some crystals that help the kidneys in general. For instance, Honey Calcite can help to stimulate kidney function.
Other crystals/stones, such as Amber, Bloodstone, Carnelian, Citrine, and Sunstone help aid the kidneys to function properly.
There are also crystals/stones that can help to regenerate tissue in the body. Some of these would include Carnelian, Citrine, Peridot, Rutilated Quartz, and/or Unakite.

I have a 10 year old English Springer. She was diagnosed with Diabetes in December. Almost overnight, she went blind. Her right eye is irreversible — the eye membrane burst and all that sugary fluid got inside her eye, and there is no surgery to fix it. I have to give her three different kinds of eye drops three times a day, 15 minutes apart, and 2 kinds of pills: one three times a day, the other twice a day.
What I wanted to know is, is there any crystal I could put on her collar or that would at least ease her discomforts in her eyes? That is what the drops and pills are for, but the pressure in the right eye is still very high. Normal eye pressure is around 9-13. Hers is 53. Her left eye is normal except for being blind. This specialist tells me with that kind of pressure, it is like having a migraine in her eye. So that is what one of the pills is for but I don't know if it is helping her pain or not. I think it is, as she no longer whimpers if I touch that eye like she did before. She increased her meds to lower the pressure in the eye.
I just wanted to know if there is any particular type of crystal that might help ease any discomfort she may be having. I wanted something I could add to her collar if possible. I can make a little pouch and put it on her collar if there is a crystal that might help. I am not looking for something that will restore her sight — I know there is no such thing. IF there were, I'd snap it up in a heartbeat! This specialist would probably think me nuts for trying crystal power, but I have only recently learned about crystals and their power from a dear friend in Australia who gave me a link where she gets her crystals, but because it is Australia the shipping is outrageous. So I just did a search to find a local place and discovered this site, which I liked immediately due to how informative it is and how easy it is to navigate and use.

Jet is very helpful to use when migraine headaches are present. I think it would really be of assistance here as well.

While I am not a doctor and cannot give out medical advice, there are a few suggestions I can give you to possibly ease your child's allergy issues.
Danburite — Danburite is a gentle, high vibrational crystal that works on all kinds of chronic conditions, including allergies and asthma.
Aquamarine can help with allergies by calming an overactive immune system, as well as assisting with other autoimmune disorders.
Yellow Aventurine can be used as an anti-inflammatory, as well as easing migraine headaches, allergies and sinus issues.

The last stop on our angelic tour brings us to Archangel Zadkiel (sometimes written as Tzadkiel, Zachiel or Zedkiel), the angel of comfort, prayer and abundance. He is the gentlest of the archangels and his name means “Righteousness of God”. Zadkiel rules the planet Jupiter and the element of air. His colors are sky blue or violet and his day of the week is Thursday. Scents affiliated with Zadkiel include sandalwood, ylang ylang, bergamot, rosemary and nutmeg. His flower is the violet. Crystals associated with this kind but brave angel include Blue Lace Agate, Amethyst, Blue Chalcedony and Lapis Lazuli.
You can invoke the aid of archangel Zadkiel when you feel despair, depressed and in need. His is often depicted holding a dagger and is surrounded by a blue or violet light. Zadkiel is especially fond of children and will often come to their aide. He may also be called upon for abundance (be it spiritual or material), improving memory, seeking forgiveness from others who have wronged us, and achieving justice. He guides those in the alternative-medicine fields, such as aromatherapists, reiki masters, and masseurs, as well as librarians, interpreters, cashiers and psychiatrists.
Although linked to Neptune, Blue Lace Agate is considered both a water and air stone. It is a crystal of Zadkiel's because of its gentle ability to distill calm, peaceful energy. This banded pale blue agate is useful in reducing stress, lowering blood pressure, relieving headaches and alleviating painful joints and bones. It is a peace keeping stone which, if placed in your home, will eradicate negative energies and keep conversations from becoming confrontational. I keep two of these stones on our kitchen table, and have found that, with two teenage sons and an Italian husband, dinnertime has become much more agreeable and even fun again. And, because of my osteoarthritis, I also keep one in my pocket on those days when I feel my hips getting painful.
Amethyst is another crystal ruled by the air element. This purple crystal is a powerful healing stone for the mind as well as the body. It's also a calming stone, bringing restful sleep, relief from tension headaches, migraines and eyestrain. Amethyst can ease stressful situations and even calms hyperactive pets. It's been a stone of royalty for centuries, used to bring about prosperity. Place an amethyst under a child's pillow (or, for small children, under the mattress) to keep nightmares at bay.
Blue Chalcedony is a soft blue crystal useful in telepathy, whether it's used for communicating with animals, plants or spirit guides. Physically, it helps with seasonal allergies, kidney and gall stones, and fluid retention. It's a learning stone, aiding us in tackling a new language or understanding complex technologies, such as computers (wish I knew this ten years ago).
Lapis Lazuli is a stone of Jupiter and the air element. This royal blue crystal has been used for centuries, from the Ancient Egyptians to Native Americans for its wonderful healing benefits. It's also a stone of wisdom and increases psychic awareness and protection. Lapis calms an excited household and, in healing practices, it relieves pain and inflammation, especially of the nervous system. It instills it's wearer with a burst of self-confidence and the courage to meet life's little challenges.

What are good stones for heart palpitations? And nervous system calming? I have had heart palpitations for over a year now. It comes from time to time. I checked with a cardiologist and he did all necessary ultrasonic scans, etc. and told me that my heart physically is perfect but it's related to heart nerves. He said under stress or panic attacks it gets false signals from the brain and that is what causes the heartbeat disorder.
So I'm likely interested to get stones for the heart and overall nervous system — both at the same time. I know that a Ruby is good for the heart, but I also would like to know other good options as well.

It sounds like the heart palpitations are a response/symptom to the stress, nerves and panic, yes?
Let's focus in on the primary cause of the heart palpitations, which would be the stress and nerves. Once this cause is under control, I think you will find that the symptoms (heart palpitations) will effectively decrease.
There are many crystals that can help to decrease stress and relieve tension.
For instance, Chrysocolla is soothing and calming in times of stress, and brings about gentle release. It gently draws off negative energies of all kinds, and can help to calm the emotions.
Blue Calcite calms and soothes frayed nerves and lessens anxieties. It facilitates physical healing by clearing negative emotions and encouraging rest and relaxation.
Lepidolite in my opinion, is one of the best pieces to use in order to reduce stress, release tension, and calm panic and anxiety.
Chlorite in Quartz is a wonderful combination that helps to ease the feelings of panic, fear and recurring anxiety. The Green Chlorite is also a wonderful heart stone, which will help to heal and soothe the rhythms of the heart.
To keep you in a space of peace and tranquility, try carrying Amethyst, Aragonite, Emerald, Rose Quartz, or Blue Lace Agate.
To strengthen the heart, try working with Amber, Amazonite, Red Garnet, or Green Tourmaline.
Choose the crystals that you feel will work best for you and make sure to carry them with you daily in your pocket, etc. When you get home, you may want to pick one or two and sit quietly. A good exercise when feeling that panic (and to practice even when you don't) is to sit in silence. Take a deep breath in (count to 4), hold that breath (count to 4) and slowly release the breath (count to 4). This breathing also releases all of that pent up tension and stress.
Does it work? You bet! I have baffled many a nurse taking my blood pressure by doing this simple breathing technique. It significantly lowers my blood pressure, so much so that they always ask if I have low blood pressure :)
Anytime you feel the stress, panic or heart palpitations, do the breathing. It will help get things to a place of balance for you.

There are several crystals that can assist in the area of bone growth. For general bone issues, try some Apatite.
- Apatite can help with such issues as calcium absorption, bone and joint issues, as well as easing pain and/or discomfort.
To strengthen the bones and for healthy bone growth, I recommend Howlite, Calcite, Pyrite or Fluorite.
- Howlite helps with the absorption of calcium into the bones and teeth, and can balance the emotions. Howlite also assists in relaxing and releasing muscular tension.
- Calcite has been associated with the bones and joints, and balances the amount of calcium in the body. Calcite can also help to improve the body's absorption of important vitamins and minerals.
- Fluorite helps to strengthen bones and surrounding tissues.
- Pyrite helps to treat bones and stimulates cell formation. Pyrite consolidates energy, creating a foundation for intention and grounding.
To strengthen the skeletal structure, both Lapis Lazuli and Selenite will be very helpful.

My mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer stage 3C last year, and last February we found out that her cancer cells spread to her pleura (the membrane of her lungs). I always put an aquamarine stone on her throat chakra because I've read that aquamarine is good for the water retention especially in the lungs, since the doctor extracted more than 1 liter of fluid from her lungs, and there is still about 125mL of fluid left but they just gave her diuretics. I've read from your site that Sugilite is good for people with cancer, so I bought a Sugilite pendant for her — she's wearing it now. I also have a Carnelian and Smoky Quartz bracelet for her with Agate as a charm, because Smoky Quartz stimulates the immune system and is excellent for treating radiation related illnesses or chemotherapy — she had 9 courses of chemo last year. I would like to ask what stone/crystal will you recommend for her to make her poop? She needs to make release but sometimes she can't, and it just makes her uncomfortable and she's experiencing spasms on her stomach. Please help. Thank you.

There are crystals that can assist in the area of constipation. Specifically Amber, Calcite (Blue), and/or Ruby.
Amber is a powerful, yet gentle healer and cleanser. It draws out and transmutes negative energy of all kinds on all levels (including physical issues). Amber aids in physical self-healing, emotional healing of depression, and environmental clearing.
Blue Calcite is a powerful energy amplifier and cleanser. The purifying energy of Calcite cleans out stored negative energy from the body. Use Calcite to clear out old energy patterns and to increase personal motivation and drive. Calcite is also a good choice for distance healing work, because it amplifies the energy being sent.
Ruby is a wonderful detoxification stone. It helps in balancing the intestinal tract (small intestines and bowel).
I would normally suggest charging some water for her to drink, but with her retention issues, I think it would be best to steer clear of this for now. Instead, you may want to start with one crystal during a healing session (lay the stones on the body) and then go to a combination to see if that eases the condition.

Our next visitation brings us to Archangel Jophiel (also written as Iophiel or Zaphiel), the angel of Creative power and Illumination. His name means “beauty of God” and he sometimes appears as a very tall angel (over 9 feet) wearing a yellow cloak and carrying a flaming sword. Jophiel is another guardian over the Tree of Knowledge, alongside Uriel. He is the archangel of artists, craftspeople, researchers, inventors, builders, film-makers, bakers and photographers.
Jophiel's ruling planet is Mercury and the element of Air. His day is Wednesday and his color is deep yellow. Scents given to Jophiel are lavender, orange, myrrh, and lemongrass. Crystals associated with archangel include Ametrine, Smoky Quartz and Rutilated Quartz.
Call upon archangel Jophiel when you need help learning something new, especially with spiritual matters. When you need inspiration, Jophiel is the one to ask. He also helps us realize untapped abilities we never even knew we had. Jophiel can “unjumble” the chaos that sometimes overwhelms our minds, bringing about clearer thoughts and more organized ways of thinking. Ametrine is actually an usual combination crystal that is composed of amethyst and citrine. It is purple and yellow and helps to increase creativity as well as improve your focus. Great for workaholics, ametrine helps rebalance your life between home, work and spirit. In healing practices, ametrine reduces cravings, such as nicotine, and replaces negative energy with positive.
Smoky Quartz is a translucent, smoky brown variety of quartz crystal. Despite the fact that it is linked to Saturn and the earth element, smoky quartz is associated with archangel Jophiel because of its ability to release negative energy from your body back into the earth, making you feel more “in the moment” and at peace. Hi Jill,
Swelling is a direct result of the white blood cells increasing and attacking the infection. The white blood cells increase and fight the infection faster and harder, thus causing the swelling. As a rule, when swelling occurs suddenly and painfully, it is due to viral or bacterial infection. Ear infections, colds and even small cuts can cause swollen glands.
There are definitely some crystals that can help. For lymphatic system issues, try some Amber or Larimar. These two crystals are also great to use for colds.
For general lymphatic issues, like what you have with swollen lymph nodes, I would recommend Sodalite, Sulfur, or Blue Tourmaline (Indicolite).
There are also crystals that can assist with swollen glands including Aquamarine, Blue Lace Agate and Topaz.
You may also want to consider using some Moss Agate. Moss Agate is a wonderful cleansing crystal, removing toxins from the body and circulatory systems. Charge some drinking water with Moss Agate to infuse your body with healing energy and remove toxins.
Often times, people may recommend green crystals, since green is the color of healing. However, in this case, I would caution against it. Green is also the color of growth and we want to reduce the swelling, not increase it :)

What are the most effective crystals to use in dealing with symptoms of clinical depression: listlessness, lack of appetite, loss of hope and passion for life, isolation, etc.?

This is an issue very close to my heart. There was a time in my life that I worked with a psychiatrist who dealt solely with bipolar disorder and chronic depression. In fact, in a funny way, this was fate. After three months of working with him, and with him observing me, he called me into his office one day and diagnosed me as well. That answered a lot of questions for me! I suppose I have a unique perspective. Not only was I diagnosed, I also interacted with the families of these patients, and the patients themselves on a daily basis. Let me share what I know with you.
Depression is basically a deficiency in Norepinephrine and Serotonin, the neurotransmitters in the brain that makes us "feel good". It is not just the amount of the chemicals but how the brain processes these chemicals.
For instance, in bipolar (manic-depressive) disorder, when someone hits a manic phase — which may present itself as extreme stress or agitation — these neurotransmitters may be used up quickly and the person is left feeling depressed, like they have basically run out of gas. This disorder goes in cycles, over and over again. Sometimes it is mild; other times, it is extremely debilitating.
Lithium, like many depression medications, is commonly used to help create a balance of the chemical levels. There are quite a few crystals that contain natural Lithium and have been known to ease the symptoms of depression. Some of the lithium enhanced crystals include:
Lepidolite, Lithium, Pink/Lavender/Orchid Kunzite, Sugilite, and Lilac Rose Quartz.

One of my favorite combinations for depression is Rose Quartz and Green Aventurine. While they may not affect the chemical levels in the brain, they do infuse the body with love, support and hope. Many times, those suffering from depression feel that there is something wrong with them, they want to understand why they do not feel good, etc. This stone combination can ease the self-doubt and fear.
I think one of the most important things I can recommend is not a crystal at all. It is simply love, true understanding and support. Many people do not understand why someone who is depressed cannot just "snap out of it". Other family members may just deny the issue exists at all. While I do believe in the power of manifestation and affirmation, this "help" is not received by the depressed in the same manner as it would be for others. It is perceived quite differently — to a person living with this disorder, it in fact confirms in their mind that there is something wrong with them, which only puts them deeper into the depression. They are not in a place (yet) where they can just manifest it away.

Hello,
I couldn't find a specific area to ask a question regarding the use of crystals for a specific issue, so forgive me if this is not the place. My dog was recently diagnosed with the thinning of the renal cortex of both kidneys. They do not know if this was from a past injury, congenital, or if it is a progressive situation. We have a baseline so we will be monitoring it. If it is progressive, it means it is deteriorating and she will eventually go into renal failure. If it is a result of past injury, we need to keep the kidneys strong. Besides the herbs she is on, what crystals would she benefit from other than the typical ones used on the chakras that relate to the kidneys?

Thank you for visiting the website and for your question. Our animal companions can be such an important part in our lives. Their unconditional love is amazing!
To aid kidney functions, there are a number of crystals I would like to recommend for your consideration. These include Charoite, Fluorite, Garnet and/or Sunstone.
Nephrite, Stichtite and Septarian all specifically work with Renal Disease and the kidneys.
Clear Quartz is a Master Healer. Clear Quartz is great for amplifying intention, so you could program it with a specific purpose for your pet before use. If you decide to use Clear Quartz for your pets, you should clear it in the evenings, as it will absorb any negative vibes with which your pet has come into close contact. Clear Quartz can also be used to enhance communication with your pet.
I would also recommend using a crystal wand as part of your pet's treatment. You can use the point to directly send energy into the area of the kidneys. This idea actually came from another customer who had me research Crystal Acupuncture :) I think this would work very well in your case.

The next Archangel on our tour of the angelic realm is Archangel Chamuel, the archangel of adoration and courage. His name means “He who seeks God” and he is ruled by the planet Mars, the element of fire and the zodiac sign of Aries. His day is Tuesday and his colors are ruby red or pale green. Chamuel often appears wearing armor. His scents include mint, geranium, neroli and ginger. Crystals often associated with Chamuel are Red Jasper, Bloodstone, Carnelian and Pink Tourmaline.
Call on Chamuel when you feel yourself beginning to feel a bit of self-loathing or if you're spreading yourself too thin, always doing for everyone else before yourself. Chamuel will help you to adore yourself and practice a bit of self-love. It's alright to take some time for yourself. Chamuel is also an angel of peace and divine justice. He guards the innocent and gives us strength to overcome. He is the patron of surgeons, air traffic controllers, hairdressers, animal conservationists and those
involved in peacekeeping missions.
Red Jasper is an opaque form of chalcedony and it has an earthy red coloring, much like red clay. It is a stone of Mars and the element of fire. It is also a stone for the zodiac sign of Aries. Red jasper was often called the warrior's stone, as it was thought to bring strength and courage to those who wore it. Likewise, it has been used as a symbol of fertility. Native Americans consider it a sacred stone, for red jasper was thought to be the blood of the earth. In healing practices, it regulates the blood and its circulation, thus bringing warmth to those cold hands and feet. Red jasper is also an
energy stone, bringing you a sense of vigor and vitality. In magical uses, it can be used to send negative energy back to the sender, offering you protection from harm, be it psychic or physical.
Bloodstone is another of archangel Chamuel's stones that can be helpful in cleansing the blood. It is a deep green stone with flecks of red and is also associated with Mars, Aries and the fire element. In healing, bloodstone is often used for liver, kidney, intestine, and bone marrow problems. This powerful healing stone is also beneficial for women's issues such as menstruation and menopausal symptoms. Bloodstone is also an excellent stone for athletes and anyone who could use a little more stamina during physical activity. Bloodstone also encourages you to believe in yourself and helps give you the courage to achieve your goals.
Another red stone linked to Chamuel is Carnelian, also associated with the element of fire. This stone is more translucent than red jasper, and not as deep in coloring. Still, it's a powerful protection stone, giving you added courage and strength. Like the bloodstone, carnelian is a blood-cleanser and can also speed recovery time from illness or injury. Carnelian can also give you the courage to be yourself, rather than living by everyone else's expectations. This red stone can also bring success

Pink Tourmaline is affiliated with Chamuel because of its ability to relieve us of past fears and pain, thus enabling us to get rid of bad patterns and move forward, better able to love who you are. This lovely pink form of tourmaline is also used to channel or communicate with spirit guides and also protects against negativity. In healing, it helps with chronic lung ailments, relieves coughs, eases anxiety and reduces stress.

My stepmum has had breast cancer — she had one breast removed and has recovered. This was two years ago. Now, just two weeks ago, she had the other breast removed and has had reconstructive surgery. I think a Rose Quartz pendant, worn right at the heart chakra, would be a wonderful gift. Rose Quartz is a stone of love and healing. It brings in universal, unconditional love from its Source. Rose Quartz also brings calm and harmony during times of increased stress or crisis.

I truly can relate! I call hot flashes "power surges" — great in the winter, but a little much in the summer :)
There are several crystals that can be of general assistance as you go through this experience. Lapis Lazuli can help to ease the transition, both mentally and physically. Lepidolite and/or Lithium can help to cool and balance the body. Moonstone is a very soothing stone that helps to relieve stress. Many women like Moonstone for its ability to balance hormonal and menstrual cycles.
It would be a great idea to keep a piece of Citrine in your pocket or under your pillow at night. Citrine can help to control hot flashes and balance the yin and yang. Working with the Sacral, Solar-Plexus, and Third-Eye Chakras, Citrine can enhance the energy flow between these chakras, ameliorating symptoms of menopause.
You can also put together an assortment of crystals that help to physically balance the body (hormones included):
Double Terminated Quartz — simultaneously absorb and emit energy in both directions, which can help you to flow with the transition/change.
The combination of Citrine and Amethyst in one stone, also called Ametrine, not only help to balance the body, but to cool and soothe.

I often recommend Amethyst for all types of skin issues. In fact, I have a spot on my face that I am currently experimenting with :) I am using a combination of Amethyst-charged water and lemon juice to rinse my face with twice daily. Lemon juice is known for its lightening/fading potential. I am hoping the combination will fade the spot to some degree.
You can also charge your drinking water with Amethyst. Drink the water throughout the day and/or wash/rinse your face with the charged water.

PART I: ENERGY HEALING
Energy is vital to optimum health. As an invisible source of health, it works on the sub-atomic level. Energy can be felt in our bodies because it releases endorphins into the bloodstream. Energy moving through the body can feel like a river flowing through the veins, creating a tingling, warm and comforting sensation.
Energy works through a delicate system called chakras, which vibrate and swirl when they are open. Located mainly along the spine, an open chakra system affects the endocrines, organs, digestive, cardiovascular and nervous systems. Nourishing our chakras is as important to maintaining our overall health as good diet and exercise; disease and illness can manifest when the chakras are blocked.
Through study and practice, techniques can be used directly or remotely to remove blockages in each part of this intricate system. These techniques enable the body to heal physically and emotionally. Opening the energetic pathways in the chakras facilitates healing to begin from the inside out.
In my healing practice, I use crystal pendulums to help assess and measure the flow of energy. Healing Touch for Animals is one method of applying healing techniques for people and their pets. Crystals may be placed around the animal’s bed or in the home to assist the healing process. Crystal cards are helpful when working remotely and sending energy via intention or thought.
PART II: INTERSPECIES COMMUNICATION
In addition to our five senses, we are all born with a sixth sense. It is our intuition, and our connection to the spiritual realm. It is through awareness and meditative practice that we are able to access our intuitive or higher self. Our intuitive self also allows us to tap into the collective or universal consciousness where we can hear others’ thoughts, feel their emotions and even “see” energetic pictures of their experiences.
The terms for seeing, hearing and sensing are called clairvoyance, clairaudience and clairsentience. They are integral parts of interspecies communication, which is gaining momentum in the holistic community because of its role in healing our interspecies relationships.

Although they may not express these emotions in the same fashion as we do, acknowledging and validating their feelings is the ultimate goal for interspecies communication. In my interspecies communication practice, I use prayer, divination and meditation techniques to access the spirit realm and connect with the animals. I see pictures, hear words and sense feelings. I work closely people who adore their pets to help resolve problems and enhance their relationships.
Using crystal energy to guide me in my intuitive work is very important. I have a Smoky Quartz reading stone, and also use others when I sense something else is necessary. For example, I use a Merkaba Lapis Lazuli and Herkimer Diamond for specialized situations. In your opinion, which crystal is the best when it comes to detoxifying the toxins in your body such as inflammation?

First, let me say that I am not a doctor and cannot give out medical advice. Crystals for healing should be used as a compliment to other therapies and not as a replacement for regular medical care.
With that said, for your condition, I would like to start with some general crystal information on inflammation and toxins.
Inflammation is the first warning signal (MAYDAY!) put out by your immune system when a foreign object (antigen) enters the body. Inflammation is the first line of defense, helping to rid the body of the germs or toxins and stopping the infection from spreading to the rest of the body.
I personally believe that Bloodstone is one of the best overall detox stones out there. Other stones that can help to draw out toxins would include Amber, Larimar, and/or Malachite.
Other Detoxifying stones include:
Apache Tears
Botswana Agate
Copper
Chlorite Included in Quartz
Danburite
Emerald
However, in order to really give you a more direct response and subsequent recommendations, it would help to know what type(s) of inflammation we are talking about. Crystals to help detox and reduce inflammation to the liver will be different than crystals that can help to detox and reduce inflammation to a bone or muscle.
In my research, I have found that, for instance, at the intestinal level, foods can cause inflammation of your intestinal wall through such things as allergies, bacteria, or other toxins. For intestinal inflammation due to toxins, I may recommend Amber, Carnelian, or Peridot, as these all help specifically with inflammation and detox in the intestinal area.
If the inflammation is in the throat, Topaz may be recommended, as it is specific to that area and so on.
Sometimes, inflammation is caused by a germ (viral, bacterial) and is not the same as a toxin, and again, more specific recommendations would be offered in this case.
I hope these suggestions will help to get you started. A really great reference to assist you would be our "Issues and Ailments Guide". This list helps to locate not only general information on what crystals can help with inflammation and detoxifying, but also specific areas (liver, lungs, etc) for crystal recommendations as well.

Crystals, being born of the earth, are not only useful in healing body and mind, but also in healing the earth itself. If your surroundings aren't healthy, this will reflect back upon you. Take a look at your garden. Whether it's a container garden on an urban balcony, cottage garden in the country or a flowerbed in the suburbs, any garden can benefit from a bit of crystal help. No matter where you live or how big or small your garden is, crystals placed in and around your space will make for healthier, more productive plants. I use the term 'garden' loosely, for it can really encompass your entire property. Trees, shrubs, plants, flowers, water features and containers can all make up a garden.
All living things have energy. And flowers, plants and trees are no different. And just as certain crystals are used to heal certain physical ailments in the body or aid in easing a troubled mind, there are certain crystals that can be used to make your garden more productive, healthy, and beautiful.
Moss Agate is probably the most beneficial stone when you want increased plant growth. It is known as “the gardener's talisman” for this very reason. Moss agate is often used to attract prosperity and abundance. It's also a healing stone. This crystal is associated with nature spirits. Wearing moss agate while gardening can increase your energy, relieve a stiff neck, and “tune” you in to the energies of your garden. Placing moss agate stones in a container pot or in the ground will increase flower and plant growth. I made a moss agate wind chime suspended from three bamboo stakes tied together at the top and placed this “tee-pee” in a part of my garden where the Phlox weren't doing so well. Within a couple of weeks, I was overrun. A little goes a long way when it comes to crystals. If you have fruit trees, try hanging a small moss agate stone from one of the branches to promote a healthy harvest.
Malachite is another green stone useful in the garden. The Ancient Egyptians used malachite as a fertility symbol and it was associated with vegetation, agriculture and healthy crops. Malachite is a healing crystal and as such, can be placed in the garden to encourage growth and abundance. It is also a protective stone, shielding us from the negative influences of electromagnetic fields, such as power lines. Placing a stone in the garden will protect your home from these sources. Wearing one while working in the garden will also help if you don't want to bury a malachite in the earth. Even setting one in shade of a bush or underneath a flower will help. Indoors, malachite is very effective when placed near computers and televisions to remove the negative energies from these devices.
Another crystal useful in the garden is Green Calcite, a pale green stone that is said to belong to the small earth spirits of the woods and meadows. Offering a small stone with thanks to these elementals can result in a lush and beautiful garden. Green calcite is also a healing stone and is often used to calm and soothe. If your property is too loud, crowded or over active, you can place a green calcite crystal in a flowerpot or under a tree to soothe the area.
Moonstone is a crystal associated with, you guessed it, the moon. It's also a symbol of fertility and is used in the garden. A favorite of Native American healers, it encourages healthy plants and flowers and promotes a soothing, restful area. You can wear moonstone while watering your flowers, clipping herbs or mowing the lawn. Carrying one in your pocket is just as helpful. You can even hang one in a tree to increase growth.
The last crystal on our list is also associated with the moon but it's not used in the garden. Instead, it is the stone of the sea, Aquamarine. For those who have a pond or lake that contains fish or other water creatures, a small aquamarine crystal placed in the water will keep fish and plants healthy.

Tourmaline, Chrysoprase, and Sodalite are what I ordered. I find myself just all of a sudden feeling awful - kinda sick with a mean headache. Most of the time, I feel very good for my age. I carry a hundred pounds more weight than I should. Will these crystals help or do I need to add something more? I also sleep through the night, but sometimes, I get up more tired than when I went to bed.

If I may start with a question first :) Did you begin to feel awful before you ordered the crystals? Or after you started working with the crystals? Sometimes, crystal energy can overwhelm, so it is a good idea to start slowly. Use one crystal for a bit, then another, then combine them, etc.
If this is not the case, then lets take a look at these stones. Let me share beforehand the standard disclaimer that I am not a doctor and cannot give out medical advice. Crystals for healing should be used as a compliment to other therapies and not as a replacement for regular medical care.
It would be beneficial for you to have a check up, just to make sure this is not a medical condition that can easily be treated. With the various flues, allergies and colds that come with the winter season. Also, blood sugar levels can cause these symptoms. I think this would be a good starting point for you.
The crystals you have chosen can absolutely assist with the conditions you have stated. Tourmaline is a wonderful help for migraines and headaches of all types. Migraines can often make you feel sick, have an increased sensitivity to light and sound, etc. Try laying still in a dark room with the Tourmaline placed on the area of pain and see if that helps to decrease the symptoms.
There are a variety of crystals that can help to soothe the pain and illness felt when a headache presents itself. These can be used alone or in conjunction with the Tourmaline.

Amethyst (I actually put my Amethyst in the freezer for a few minutes and then apply to the area that hurts the most. Works like a charm for me :)

Jet (Does well using the freezer method also)
Sugilite is an excellent reliever of pain

The Chrysoprase and Sodalite are wonderful sleep companions. Both are wonderful soothing stones that help the body to relax and go into a deep sleep. Upon waking, the body should feel refreshed and energized.
Other crystals that can help ready the body for sleep and allow for a deep, refreshing sleep include:

Selenite
Amethyst is a powerful healer in its own right. I would highly suggest procuring a piece of Amethyst to help with the issues you are currently experiencing.

I was introduced to crystal healing through my Yoga teacher. I would like to have a recommendation for my issue. I have been having panic attacks for 3 months now. I am not sure but I was really emotionally affected by my mother's death in April '09. Then started the issue with the husband and in-laws. I was very close with my mother and could not share my feelings to anyone else. On the top off all of these, my husband now is asking for a divorce and I am very upset. The panic attacks are very intense (not the fear ones). I don't get scared of anything but all of he sudden my chest starts hurting badly and I feel like I am choked. It happens out of no where and suddenly. My yoga teacher scanned my body with a crystal and said that almost all my chakras are blocked, specially the heart chakra. I also practice Reiki but now I don't feel the energy flow anymore. Can you please recommend any crystal that can help me?

My condolences on the loss of your mother. Grief is a process that affects each person differently. Holding it in, not being able to share with someone - anyone - can very well be affecting your health and bringing on these panic attacks.
My first suggestion would be to seek out someone (a grief counselor, therapist, etc) that you can openly share your feelings and go through this process with. In essence, you have closed or shut down your heart to ease the hurt, which could be one reason that your heart chakra is blocked at this time. Of course, what I am saying to you is my opinion only :) I am not a doctor or professional, however, I do highly recommend that you seek out so assistance or things may continue as they are now.
I feel that something, some stressor, happened a little before or around the time you began having the panic attacks. This is also something I encourage you to explore with a counselor of some type. I encourage you to seek out support from friends and family. It is important to realize that you are not in this all alone.
In the meantime, let's look at some crystals that can assist you.
Calcite, Blue soothes frayed nerves and lessens anxieties. It is a very calming stone to have with you.
Chrysoprase helps to facilitate deep relaxation.
Lapis Lazuli is another stone that is both calming of mind and body.
Manganocalcite can be used to assist and ease any type of emotional trauma. Anxiety would fall under this category. I always feel as if I am embraced in safety and love when I use Pink Calcite. This is a very gentle, loving and supportive stone. I highly recommend everyone have at least one Pink (mangano) Calcite in their collection.
Tourmaline, Black is used for protecting one's energy field against negative vibrations, and also for drawing negative energies away from a person. It can have a calming effect when needed, grounding flighty or scattered energies into the earth.
Lastly, I would like to recommend a combination of Rose Quartz and Green Aventurine. These crystals help us to heal from all types of emotional difficulties, allowing the heart to heal with understanding, compassion and forgiveness.
There are also a number of crystals that can assist in the grief process as well. Take a look at each of these stones/crystals. Choose those which you are drawn to deeply.

There are indeed crystals that can assist in this area!
Manganocalcite helps to prevent and release nightmares. Other stones and crystals that can assist by preventing and/or releasing bad dreams would include Hematite, Smoky Quartz, Ruby and Chrysoprase.
Many times, we do not "prepare" for sleep, but instead, go to bed with a swirl of thoughts replaying our day in our mind. We have all done it. This constant replay can many times affect our sleep patterns and our dreams. Try and take a few minutes to breathe deeply and release all of those daily events from your mind before crawling into bed. Listen to soothing music gently playing - really listen and pay attention, putting all of your focus on the music itself (this tricks your mind, as it focuses it to listen to the music and not to the constant thought chatter in the head). Find a way to release all the stress and tensions of the day before you get into bed. I think this will be very helpful to you, along with the crystals you choose for sleeping.

There are three crystals I like to recommend that can be used specifically for back pain:
Carnelian-Injuries & tension reliever
Hematite-Ache
Lapis Lazuli-Pain
There are other crystals that help with general pain as well. Two of my favorites are Amethyst and Amber.
I also looked through our archived articles and found this suggestion by a customer:
"Just wanted to tell you that the back pain (severe and chronic) is eased when I get into bed at night and lie on about a dozen clear quartz - I love the feeling of all the crystals just (forgive the word) sucking the pain out of my back - it is so wonderful - nights are something to look forward to instead of dreading. Thank you!"

There are three crystals specifically for Sciatica that may bring your friend some relief:
Malachite helps to ease the pain and release some of the tension in the body.
Blue Sapphire can help to soothe the nerves that are causing the pain.
Watermelon Tourmaline can also help to ease tension in the back and legs, as well as soothe the Sciatic nerve itself.
There are other crystals that are very useful for pain in general. These would include:
Amber
Amethyst
Lapis Lazuli
Rose Quartz
Sodalite
Turquoise
Yellow Jasper
As for using the stones, try both and see which brings more relief. He may want to carry the stones during the day and then lay the stones on the affected area when he gets home. Hi Randy,
Since you did not pick a specific healing issue, I am thinking maybe you just want a list of what I would recommend for a starter set? Let's start there and if you have a specific question down the road, we can address that as well, sound OK?
I always like to recommend that folks have one basic stone/crystal for each chakra, as well as one protection stone/crystal, one grounding stone/crystal, and one balancing stone/crystal. We have a great series of articles on the chakras that will be very helpful to familiarize yourself with the various areas.

I would choose Red Garnet as the crystal to use for the Root Chakra. It will also assist with any physical issues that deal with the Heart, blood (circulation, anemia, cleanser of, etc) and Sexuality.
I believe Carnelian would be an excellent choice to use for the Sacral Chakra. Physically, Carnelian will assist with issues of the kidneys, bladder, and intestines.
For the Solar Plexus chakra area, my all time favorite would be Citrine. Physically, Citrine will help to cleanse and energize the body by removing toxins from the body. It will also help to ease emotional issues.
My favorite crystal to use for the Heart Chakra is Green Aventurine. Metaphysically, Green Aventurine helps to soothe and heal the heart or any issues surrounding the heart, enhancing forgiveness and compassion. Physically, Green Aventurine can be used to assist in the areas of the Liver, Lungs, and Heart.
Blue Lace Agate is a gentle stone that works very well with the Throat Chakra. Physically, Blue Lace Agate can help to ease infection, throat ailments, sinusitis, and any dental issues.
Amethyst is my choice for the Third Eye Chakra. Physically, Amethyst is a powerhouse healer, helping to ease pain, detoxify the body, and strengthen the immune system.
For the Crown Chakra, Iolite is my favorite. Physically, Iolite helps with respiratory issues, fatigue, and muscular/skeletal issues.
Black Tourmaline is one of the best protection crystals around. I highly recommend this as one of your starter pieces.
For a grounding crystals, Smoky Quartz cannot be beat. Everyone should have at least one piece of Smoky Quartz.
For balance, I recommend Hematite. Definitely a favorite for starter healing kits.
These suggestions will give you everything you need to begin healing with crystals. Once you have worked with these, I am sure you will look for others to complement them as well. Much success and fun on your healing journey.

Good Morning Susan,
There are several crystals that can assist with Bipolar disorder, with Lepidolite being one of the best. Lepidolite contains amounts of natural Lithium. Lithium is often used in medication form to treat chronic depression and Bipolar disorder as it helps to regulate/balance Serotonin levels in the brain.
You may also want to try Chlorite in Quartz or Kunzite (which also contains trace amounts of Lithium).
The size of the piece is not really that important as it carries the same energy be it small, medium or large. I think you should choose a piece that you can comfortably carry in your pocket or lay on your body. A 1" tumble would be great for carrying and holding. A flatter piece, http://www.healingcrystals.com/Lepidolite__Extra__Grade__Mica_w_Lithium_.html, would be better for laying on the body (a tumble tends to roll off pretty easily).
I feel it would be best to place the piece at the back of the neck if you are laying down/remaining still for a healing session. Otherwise, you could carry in a pouch around your neck, in your pocket during the day, or under your pillow at night. Many would say to place the crystal on the third eye or crown area, but given the condition of Bipolar, I think this would destabilize the balance that we are looking to achieve.
I suggest you take a look at the pictures in the hyperlinks provided above and see what you are drawn to (you can never go wrong when listening to your inner guidance/intuition).
I know this condition can be challenging, but with some crystal help, I know you will find some balance :)

Your niece is truly blessed to have the love and support of family as she goes through this challenge. Please know that we are sending our love and healing as well.
I must share the standard disclaimer that I am not a doctor and cannot give out medical advice. Crystals for healing should be used as a compliment to other therapies and not as a replacement for regular medical care. With that said, I would like to suggest a number of crystals that can help to strengthen her immune system, address the cancer, and aid in the healing process.
Let us begin by addressing the lymphatic system and the lymph nodes. There are several crystals that can be used specifically for this issue including Amber, Larimar, Sodalite, and Sulfur.
Larimar would be very beneficial in this case, as it works specifically with the lymphatic system AND cancer.
All of these crystals help to strengthen the lymphatic system and help to fight off attacks from internal disease, such as cancer. Wearing a pendant of any of these crystals, where it falls directly over the heart chakra and touches the skin will continuously infuse her body with this healing energy. If wearing a pendant is not feasible at this time, lay the crystal on the affected area for about 15 minutes each session.
For cancer in general, there are a few crystals that I would like to recommend. Choose which one resonates best for you and your niece. Amethyst is a wonderful and powerful healing crystal that will work on strengthening the entire body to fight the cancerous intruder. Rhodonite and/or Rhodochrosite can help to heal the body and shrink cancerous growths. Smoky Quartz and/or Sugilite help in both the fight of and healing of cancer.
It will be very important after the stem cell transplant to boost her immune system and keep her free from any bacterial or viral invaders. All of the crystals below will help to strengthen the immune system.

Raphael is the archangel of healing and knowledge. His name means “God heals” and he often appears carrying a medicine jar and a staff, or walking stick, as he is also the patron of travelers. He is usually surrounded by a glowing green aura. Raphael is ruler of the planet Mercury and the element of Air. His direction is East, his season is Spring, and his day of the week is Wednesday. Raphael's colors are yellow and green. Scents associated with Raphael are lavender, lily of the valley, mint, bergamot and thyme. His flower is the Iris. Raphael rules the air signs of the zodiac – Aquarius, Libra and Gemini. Crystals linked to this healing archangel include Malachite, Citrine, Aventurine and Yellow Calcite.
Raphael may be called upon, not only for healing, but safe travel (especially by air), new business ventures, purification, issues involving technology, written works, and buying or selling. He is particularly fond of children, so if you have a sick child, ask Raphael for healing help. He can also aide in memory improvement, exam-taking and learning a new language.
Malachite may be associated with Venus and the earth element, but because of its healing abilities, it has been linked to Raphael. This stunning, vibrant green gemstone has bands of deeper green, sometimes forming swirling patterns. As a healing stone, it is helpful in recharging the immune system, relieving migraines and strengthening the heart. Malachite can also be used to attract luck and money and is also an invaluable stone at home or work to shield us from harmful electromagnetic fields, such as those from electronics or telephone poles.
Citrine is a crystal of Mercury and the air element. In healing practices, it can be used for allergies, skin problems and digestive issues. This pale yellow crystal can also be used during meditation and visualization, making your thoughts and dreams become reality. Citrine can be a powerful prosperity crystal as well.
Aventurine is another green stone associated with Raphael because of its healing attributes. It heals the eyes and helps with anxiety as well as heart palpitations. Aventurine is also a prosperity stone, often referred to as “the gambler's stone” for it brings luck, especially in games of chance. It can aide in clairvoyance, psychic dreaming and seeing into the future. Aventurine is well-liked by nature spirits, so leaving a small tumbled stone outdoors, perhaps by a tree or tucked into a flower pot, may keep faeries from behaving too mischievously.
Another yellow crystal affiliated with archangel Raphael is Yellow Calcite. This crystal is a gentle healer, often used for distance healing. It's also beneficial for painful joints, bones and muscles. It also releases stress, increases creativity and gives us a return back to that feeling known as “fun”. Yellow calcite is also called a wishing stone and may increase psychic awareness, prosperity and strength, be it spiritual or physical.

Gabriel is the archangel of the Moon and the element of water. Gabriel means “God has shown Himself mightily” and may appear as either male or female. Gabriel rules the West, autumn and Monday. Gabriel's colors are silver, white and pale blue, and his/her flowers are Lilies and Honesty. Scents associated with Gabriel are jasmine, rose, eucalyptus and myrrh. Signs of the zodiac ruled by Gabriel are Pisces, Cancer and Scorpio. Crystals that may be used in communicating with Gabriel include Moonstone, Aquamarine, Pearls and Selenite.
Archangel Gabriel may be called upon to fulfill your dreams, bring your ideas into reality and give you courage to overcome your fears. Gabriel is associated with clairvoyance, magic, fertility, childbirth and domestic issues. As an archangel of water, Gabriel can aide in safe travel, especially over water. He/She can also help heal creatures of the water, protect against bad weather and help with problems relating to menstrual cycles (as these coincide with lunar phases).
Moonstone gets its energy from the Moon, thus making it useful for increasing psychic power and dream remembrance. It is a powerful healing stone, especially for women's issues. Moonstone is also useful in the garden to encourage plant and flower growth. It also protects travelers, calms overactive children and keeps peace in the home.
Aquamarine is the stone of the sea and is ruled by Neptune.This pale, clear blue stone can help with clairvoyance, intuition and meditation. In healing practices, aquamarine alleviates tooth problems, colds, and even seasickness. It's a soothing crystal to have on hand during extreme anxiety or panic attacks. Aquamarine can be used during distance healing. At home, this crystal can bring back loving communication between partners, and can be helpful with children, especially if they have a fear of water. Use this stone to attract business from overseas.
Pearls, having come from the sea, are also associated with Gabriel. As with moonstone, pearls are ruled by the Moon. They can increase love, either romantically or spiritually. Pearls can be used for prosperity and easing an overloaded mind. In healing, pearls can equalize hormonal rhythms with those of the moon and nature. They can also be helpful in removing the ties that bind us to overly-dominant people.
Selenite, another moon and water crystal, is an excellent crystal to develop communication with spirit guides, angels and ancient ones. In healing, it is used to regulate fluid flowing throughout the body. It can also help our bodies absorb calcium (useful for those with osteoporosis, like myself). Selenite helps with communication between partners and family members and it can also help with telepathic animal communication.

Michael, whose name means “Who is like God” is the leader of archangels. He is usually depicted with a sword and sometimes a set of scales. Michael oversees the weather, agriculture (crops) and the entire natural world. With his sword, he can cut the ties that bind us to unhealthy people or things in our lives that we no longer need. Call on Michael for protection, releasing fear, doubt and negativity, and for strength and illumination. He is also called upon for prosperity and abundance.
Michael is ruled by the Sun and the element of fire. His direction is South; his season is summer and his day is Sunday. Michael's colors include gold, yellow, orange and purple. Scents associated with Michael are chamomile, frankincense, rosemary and sage. His flower is the Marigold and he rules over the zodiac signs of Leo, Sagittarius and Aries. Sugilite is a deep purple crystal and is used to aide in contacting spirit guides and angels. It is linked to the planet Jupiter and the element of water. It can heal energy blockages in your body, and is useful during mediation to develop an increased awareness of the spirit realms and help with astral travel. Sugilite is helpful in healing and gaining insightful wisdom.
Amber, though technically not a crystal but a fossilized tree resin, has been used for centuries to increase psychic powers, relieve anxiety and attract abundance. It is ruled by the Sun and the element of fire. In healing practices, amber can be used to encourage the body to self-heal. It is also used to bring protection, strength and passion.
Golden Topaz, like amber, is associated with the Sun, fire and the zodiac sign of Leo. This stunning yellow crystal is a stone of warmth. It can relieve arthritis symptoms, digestive ailments and even bouts of exhaustion. Golden topaz is also a stone of prosperity and abundance. Like sugilite, it can also be used for astral travel.
Clear Quartz Crystal is probably the most popular "all-purpose" crystal, as it will absorb energy from the sun and aide in healing, bringing energy and vitality to the body and spirit. It is an amplifier of pure energy and, as such, can channel the energy of spirit helpers and angels, creating greater power between us and the angelic realms. The longer you wear or carry this crystal, the more attuned to your body and thoughts it becomes. Clear quartz crystal is also beneficial when placed in the home, as it will promote peace and remove negative energy.

Introduction
Angels are, in essence, energy. Celestial beings that are the messengers between the Divine and mankind. They are nondenominational and have been guiding us for centuries in every culture and on every continent. Angels transcend time and space, meaning that they can be at more than one place at a time. They often come to us in times of peril, grief and even great joy. They can be called upon to help us with almost any problem, no matter how trivial we may think it is.
The archangels are the highest in the angelic hierarchy, which has nine tiers and includes angels, principalities, powers, virtues, dominions, thrones, cherubim and seraphim. Our very own guardian angels fall into the angel hierarchy. Archangels are those that rule different days of the week, seasons, planets, elements, and so on. Traditionally, there are seven major archangels – Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Chamuel, Jophiel and Zadkiel.
Each of the archangels corresponds to certain crystal or gemstone energies. Crystals, after all, are of Earth's energy, and they can be excellent amplifiers and conductors of this energy, thus enabling us to communicate, heal and become more “in tune” with the angelic realm.
As with any crystal, those listed with each of the archangels may not seem “right” to you. In these cases, it's best to go with your intuition and let the stones choose you. The crystals corresponding to each of the archangels are usually also associated with that angel's planet, element, or zodiac sign. If the first one on the list doesn't strike a chord with you, look to the others. For example, if you want to ask help from archangel Michael, and his crystals include amber or golden topaz, and these just don't cut it for you, then try clear quartz crystal or even the sugilite (even though this stone is associated with Jupiter, Air and the sign of Aquarius). Michael is associated with the Sun, so any crystal that is also linked to the Sun, such as citrine, carnelian, tiger's eye or sunstone with also work. Again, go with your gut feeling. Maybe you'd like to use the stones associated with Michael's zodiac signs of Leo, Aries or Sagittarius. That's fine too. As long as you're comfortable.
So, what do you do with the crystals once you have them? It's really just up to you. Be as creative as you want. Do what feels right to you. If you want to place a few tumbled crystals around a candle associated with a particular angel and ask for his/her aide, then go ahead. If you want to just carry them around in your pocket, or wear them as pendants on that angel's corresponding day of the week for some added comfort or protection, that's fine as well. If you feel comfortable meditating and using visualization to ask your petition, then hold the crystals in your hands or place them around a candle in front of you. There really is no set way, and the choices are endless. Use your imagination. Even if you have just one crystal, that's all you need. Angels aren't picky, and if you can “feel” the energy from your crystal and are comfortable with it, then you are on the right path. Hi,
I'm wondering if there are any crystals/stones that would help me around all my electronic equipment - I work as an editor, and I'm surrounded by a lot of monitors, computers, etc... on a daily basis. I have some of my stones and crystals around me while I work now... but not sure how the electronics will affect them. Negatively? And I was wondering if there is a specific type of crystal or stone I can use to dissipate some of the electronic energy that might be affecting me while working.

Absolutely! Most electronic equipment (cell phones, computers, etc) give off EMF's. EMF stands for Electromagnetic Fields. These are subtle energy waves that carry frequencies of 300 hertz (cycles) or less per second. Our bodies absorb this energy. Too much absorption can have an adverse effect, particularly to energy sensitive people, causing physical manifestations such as Headaches, Depression, Memory Loss, Irritability, Chronic Fatigue, Loss of Energy, and a weakened Immune System.

Many stones and crystals will absorb/block these EMF emanations. For the crystals you currently have at work, I think it may be prudent to take them home every couple of weeks and give them a good energetic cleansing. Many stones/crystals absorb this energy and once filled up, it will need to be released. A cleansing will do that.
There are many crystals/stones that can help to dissipate the EMF energies.
Here are some suggestions taken from the first article listed above.
Use Amazonite to block and absorb all types of EMF emissions and the objects that give off these emissions. This in turn protects you from having these EMF's enter your energy field.
For cell phones, Aventurine (any color) will help to act as an EMF barrier, absorbing the energy and protecting you from it. Try taping a piece to your cell phone or wearing Aventurine earrings.
If you are around computers all day, set up a small grid using a combination of Fluorite. Blue Fluorite and/or Purple Fluorite work very well for this purpose. Wear a lovely Rainbow Fluorite pendant, necklace or bracelet.
Try sitting a few tumbled Sodalite on top of your desktop computer (or tape to a lap top) to block and clear any EMF emanations.
Place black Tourmaline or Lepidolite under your computer screen (or between you and the screen) to help clear and protect.
Other crystals and stones that can assist in clearing/neutralizing EMF's would be Turquoise, Herkimer Diamonds, Jasper, and/or Unakite.
I will say that Sodalite has worked amazingly well for me personally (I am at a computer for several hours a day). I have pieces lined up under my monitor, as well as around my computer itself. I really do feel a difference!

Great questions! Let\'s start with crystal overload - absolutely! Working with too many high vibration crystals at once can put you on the ceiling for sure! Clear Quartz, Petalite, Phenakite, and Moldavite, among many others are known to carry high energy vibrations/frequencies.
You will need to work with the crystals over a period of time to understand how they interact with your energy vibration. Just remember - everyone is different and their reactions to crystal energies may be different for them as well. For instance, Blue Kyanite raises my vibration and energy level. It is like drinking a few too many cups of coffee for me. I am bouncing off the walls. My friends compared me to a whirling Tasmanian Devil. However, I have a friend who actually SLEEPS with Kyanite. It calms and soothes her. If I was to sleep with Kyanite, I would be up and down all night long cleaning house :)
As with any task, if you try to do too much, all at once, chaos is bound to occur. My feeling is to acquaint yourself with ONE crystal at a time. Take a week, really get to know it, learn about it, how it affects your body/mind/soul, etc. Then, and only then, go to the next.
Take the time to form a relationship with your crystals - see who calms and soothes, who makes you feel you are on a caffeine high, who grounds you, balances, etc.
When working with crystals, I recommend starting out slow. Work on one issue at a time with a specific crystal or crystals. The idea is to allow the energies of the crystals to work in concert with each other. By also taking the time to get to know your crystals one on one, you will be able to focus on feeling shifts in the body, changes, hot, cold, etc. You become familiar with your own energy vibration and how the energy vibrations of the crystals affect you. This will help you to understand how this particular crystals interacts with your energy.
Crystals are tools. You can\'t build a house hammering with one hand and sawing with the other. You use one at a time. Your focus on the job is clear. Step by step. As you become more familiar and experienced with your tools, you are able to do more.
Quartz crystals help to amplify the energies of the crystals around them as well, so if you have quartz crystals in your bedroom, it can definitely affect your sleep. The energy is just too high for the body to slip into a state of rest and relaxation. And of course, the more crystals, the higher the energy. If you do have a variety of quartz in your sleeping area, you may want to put some grounding crystals under your pillow or bed to equal out the energy. Black Obsidian, Black Tourmaline, Hematite, or Red Jasperare all really great grounding pieces.
If you feel you are in an overload, use a grounding crystal or two, like the ones suggested above, to bring your energy back to balance and regain your center. Then begin the process of getting to know your crystals, one on one.

Love your site: so informative! I have made a recent purchase, yet to arrive. I'm getting confused though. I'm not sure what I purchased is what I need. I have been reading tons of info on your sight but now I am not sure what to do. Should I start with cleansing all chakras with certain crystals, then realigning with different crystals? I then came across the option of a bag of 25 crystals. This would be great: then I'd have one or more for all needs now or in the future. Question of that purchase is: so many stones can look alike and not be the right one, how would I know I'm working with the right one out of such an assortment? I have several ailments and family that I would like try to help also. I'm totally lost at this point. I have been in search for a cure to my most bothersome ailment that will end my relationship if I do not find a way to fix it. Tomorrow I will be 50. Several years ago around 44 years of age my sexual activity went from a score of 10 to 0 instantly. I cannot not fix it, doctors don't care, my husband is frustrated and certainly I am too. I don''t know what happened. Interest disappeared almost overnight. My husband blames the event of my daughters divorce being so stressful on me. I also had (about that age give or take) an ablation done. My general practitioner said that had a lot to do with a 0 libido because I eliminated the lining which contains a lot of hormones, and my gynecologist says that has nothing to do with it. All I know is I WANT IT BACK. Please help. A healthy, happy relationship that includes sexual activity makes all other parts of life more tolerable. Can you advise the best purchase for me please? I need to fix this area first then I will go from there.

I totally understand the confusion. There is so much information to absorb, isn't there? It is very easy to go on "crystal overload" in a hurry! Rest assured, that you have chosen the correct crystals to start with. You see, we all have this gift called Intuition. Even if we do not understand why or how we have chosen a specific crystal, it always turns out to be the exact one that we need for that issue.
If you are unsure of which stone is which, I am always happy to identify any stones that you are unsure of (Just send me a picture via email if you have that capability :) or to answer any questions that you may have.
My best advice is start with baby steps. Let's start at the beginning :)
The easiest way to work with crystals when it comes to the chakras is by color. Even if you do not know the name of the stone, the color will help you to place the stones on the proper chakras.
This is not always the case but it is a good way to start.
So-the basics-Red colored stones work best on the Root Chakra, Orange colored stones for the Sacral Chakra, Yellow stones work best with the Solar Plexus Chakra, Green for the heart, blue for the throat, teal for the Thymus, Purple for the Third Eye and Indigo for the Crown.
An easy way to cleanse and align the chakras would be to start with the Root Chakra. Lay your red stone on the Root area and allow it to sit for a while. When you feel that it is time to remove that stone (or it falls off on its own-this means it is done for now) then take it off and put on the orange stone for the Sacral Chakra. Allow it to sit until you feel it is ready to be removed. Continue through each chakra like this.
Once this process has been completed, then lay all of the stones on their corresponding chakras at once. Place a quartz point at the soles of your feet with the point away from the feet. Place another quartz point above your head, with the point facing away from the crown of the head. Then you can simply lay and allow the crystals to do their work. They will make sure the chakras are cleansed, aligned and balanced, all at the same time. Once you feel the session is over, simply remove the crystals. Give them a good cleansing. Now they are ready for your next session.

The body is a magnificent creation. If hormones are not made through one process, the body finds a way to create them in another. So while you may have lost some hormone production due to the ablation, I believe that the body will compensate in some way. I am certainly not a medical professional, but I do have some information to share if that is ok :)
The fact that you speak of several ailments could be our first clue. Many medications can be responsible for the lack of sex drive. Antidepressants, high blood pressure medicines, antihistamines, etc. If you are on any of these types of medications, you may want to speak with your doctor.
Other medical reasons for decreased sexual desire include arthritis, cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, coronary artery disease and neurological diseases.
A change in hormonal levels or early onset menopause could definitely be playing a part as well. Ask your doctor about hormone replacement as an option or try some of the hormone creams that are readily accessible in most drug stores. Of course, ask your doctor first to see how they will react with any other medications you are on before trying.
Other contributing factors can include stress, anxiety, fatigue, relationship or emotional issues.
Find a doctor that is willing to assist you in finding the cause.
As for crystals that can assist, there are quite a few. Let's take a look.
Red Tiger Eye is a stimulating stone and can support motivation and a more active sex drive. Use Red Tiger Eye with the Root Chakra to ground sexual ideas into the physical world, or to resolve sexual issues that are causing problems in a relationship.
Red Garnet will help to balance the sexual drive. If the drive is on the decrease, Red Garnet will increase and vice versa.
The intense and vivid energy of Ruby stimulates loving emotions, helps with the expression of love, and can facilitate states of passion and bliss.
Working with Peach Quartz can help regulate and balance one's sex-drive and encourage one to focus on their partner during sexual intimacy.
Orange Calcite helps integrate the spiritual realm with the physical body, enhances creativity, and is helpful with emotional issues. Use Orange Calcite to energize and cleanse the Root and Sacral Chakras and to bring positive energy into the areas of the will and sexuality. Another stone/crystal that can accomplish this goal as well is Sunstone.
There are a number of ways in which you can use any of the crystals listed above. Create a healing grid under your bed, wear or carry the chosen stone/stones throughout your day, place one or several under your pillow. Charge water with the crystals and make sure to drink at least three glasses a day. On the recommended crystals above, make sure to place them OUTSIDE of the container that holds your water. Many of these are not recommended to be immersed into the water due to aluminum, fibrous material or material that may break down in the water. You certainly do not want to drink that :)
I personally recommend a "spa day" for you at least once a week. Take the time to take care of you! Place some of the recommended crystals around the edges of your tub. Draw a nice hot bubble bath for yourself. Light a few candles, put on some soothing music and RELAX!! Invite your husband to participate *grin*
I think the main thing for you to realize is that it is not your fault in any way, shape or form. There can be one cause or a variety of causes. Work through them all with your doctor and I am positive you will find the cause.

Whether to use rough or polished is truly a personal preference. I feel that cut and polished pieces can be used for the healing process and work just as well as a rough crystal point.
Clear Quartz can be polished and shaped into many healing tools that you may not have available otherwise.
For instance, look at the Clear Quartz sphere. The shape of the sphere, made from a large, natural chunk of Quartz, helps to direct the energy evenly in all directions at once, as opposed to a raw, natural point, which directs a singular energy either into the energy body being healed, or pulls a singular energy out of the energy body (as in removing dense energy or toxins).
Quartz can be shaped into other healing tools such as the Pyramid, Vogel Wand, Egg, and so forth. The polishing/shaping process gives access to a much larger choice of tools for the healer.
I look at all crystals as a gift. Of course, choosing polished or raw is a personal preference esthetically. Energy wise, some would say that by polishing, energy is lost or uneven somehow. I prefer to think of it simply as either walking around in your birthday suit or putting on a pretty dress. You are still the same person, the same self, the same basic energy, no matter how you are dressed up or down. Your energy vibration only changes through human emotions. “I look awful naked” or “I look fantastic in this dress.“ Polished or shaped pieces appeals to some because of their smooth nature. Others feel that raw is best because it comes directly from Mother Nature and has not been manipulated in any way. The core energy vibration, in my experience, is the same.
My best advice is to pick what you are drawn to. This is your intuition at work.

I believe storing a clear quartz point with your Tarot cards would be the optimal choice. Quartz is known for its amplification and clearing properties. By storing a Clear Quartz point with your cards, it will help cleanse the energy after each use and heighten the energy of the cards themselves.
There are many other crystals that you could also use to assist you with the Tarot cards. For instance, before you begin the reading, you may silently ask for things like clarity, spiritual guidance (or guidance from your guides, higher self, etc), and insight. During the card reading, you may want your own intuition to be enhanced so that you can read the placement of the cards with accuracy, as well as receive/understand any higher guidance that presents itself.
For clarity you may want to work with a Herkimer Diamond, Blue Tiger Eye, Apophyllite, or Apache Tears.
For guidance and insight, Quartz is a wonderful piece for receiving messages/information while a crystal such as Peridot stimulates insight.
Other crystals that can assist with insight would include Charoite, Chrysoprase, Obsidian, and/or Rhodonite.
For a specific Tarot Card assistant, Prehnite boosts prophetic abilities and is a good stone to use when working with Tarot or Crystal Balls.
