Coveting my Crystals?
Subject: Coveting my Crystals?

Greetings Healing Crystals!

Might I first say that you have a wonderful website, easily one of the best collections of crystal goods on the internet! To date, I have not yet found a website with the variety and ease-of-use as yours. Sometimes I just spend hours browsing, looking at stones, reading about what you have to say about them, collecting the data and digits and mystical knowledge that I was put here to obtain! Wonderful site - expect more business from me :)

Here is my question to you. What can be said about feeling "Desirous" over a stone? As in... covetous? Sometimes I feel myself finding a stone for sale and I am compelled by it, I must own it. As an astrologer, this strikes me as an id-based sensation brought on by misguided taurean or scorpionic energy: lust, greed. I feel like I shouldn't feel these things for crystals, as my lust to own may taint the energies of the stone. Perhaps the very melding of commercial industry and mystical-craft is a necessary evil, and the actual act of "purchasing" a magical object feels inherently wrong. Is this a common occurrence? How should one respond to this?

Good Morning Edward,

Funny, when I read your question, I do not find it covetous or lusting at all :) What I feel to be true (my perception of this event) is that the stone/crystal is something that you need at that particular time or for a particular issue and your intuition is recognizing this to be true.

Crystals are like friendships - they may be for a reason, a season or a lifetime :)

Maybe it is just a simple case of changing perceptions for you. Think of it this way - the crystal has "spoken" to you for a reason. Your intuition recognizes this and you are compelled to purchase it. You work with the crystal for a while, and then it sits with the others. You may not feel as drawn to it, in fact, you may not use it at all. When this occurs, consider gifting it or passing it along to another who can benefit from its energies.

In this way, you are not hoarding or coveting, you are simply working with the crystal and allowing it to move on when you are done :)

With love and crystal blessings,
