Clevelandite: Welcome to Change

By Allie Phillips

I have been seriously working with crystals for almost 2 years and I am currently in an Advanced Crystal Master training program to further my education. I love all of the crystals that I have welcomed into my home and healing business. To me, they are all family and friends. Every now and then, one crystal taps me on the shoulder and says, “I’m yours … you need me”. Currently, that crystal was Clevelandite.

I am professionally in a phase of transition. I am an attorney and a healer. Some days, I want to leap out of my current, stable full-time employment (the one that pays the mortgage) and full force into my healing/coaching business. Then, other days, I look back on how hard I worked and struggled to put myself through law school to create the career that I have where I am nationally recognized, and published, for my work in protecting animals and their families. So do I continue to keep my feet in both worlds, working full-time in both worlds, and just accepting that I’ll be a little more tired than the next person? This internal struggle is gaining in strength. So it was no surprise that I picked up a crystal book in October and the page to Clevelandite opened up.

Judy Hall, in The Encyclopedia of Crystals, describes Clevelandite as a stone of initiation and transformation. She explains that it is “excellent if you want to bring about a profound life change. Clevelandite helps you focus on exactly what change you need and shows you the gifts and tools you have at your disposal, helping you move forward into the future with equanimity and providing a safe passage for your journey.”

Clevelandite originates in Pakistan, is not easily obtained, and is a triclinic crystal system. Although it has a Moh’s hardness of 6 or 6.5, it is fragile to the touch because of its “waves”. Many of the Clevelandites that I have seen have different colors of Tourmaline peering out. The Clevelandite that now sits on my bed stand to infuse me nightly is about 9 inches long, 5 inches wide and has 3 beautiful Tourmaline spears showing (two a dark green and one is a Watermelon Tourmaline).

I’ve only had my Clevelandite for two weeks, but in those two weeks there has been a noticeable shift in my mental focus. I have traditionally been a person who is very focused on any task. In the past two weeks, I have struggled with my legal job tasks (and have had to remove all of my fun healing tools from my office so that I’m not distracted); whereas I am laser-focused on my healing/coaching business. I’ve drawn in kindred spirits (like Brenda Durbin with HealingCrystals.com); books, meditation CDs, and oracle decks that are loudly speaking to me; and the ideas for how to share healing concepts are being downloaded to me so fast that I become overwhelmed where I will find the time to give every idea the time and attention it deserves. I feel as if I’ve become the Clevelandite and it has me on a rollercoaster of change.

So if you are looking for a smooth change in any aspect of your life, check out Clevelandite. I know that Clevelandite will support me professionally, make sure I keep a level head, and support me to proceed without fear. And isn’t that the sign of a true friend … being supportive and encouraging?
