Please can you tell me the best way to clean Amber and Selenite?

Thank you in advance,

Hi Diana,

By clean, do you mean physically cleaning? Let's start there :)

Although Selenite and Amber are softer materials and it is not suggested to submerge them in water for a period of time, I have had great success in giving them a bath on occasion. I use tepid (not hot, not cold) water to rinse them, then use a soft toothbrush and gentle dish washing soap to clean them, then back to the tepid water to give them a second rinse. I dry them gently with a soft cloth and let them finish by air drying.

Only very rarely do I have a little sliver of Selenite come off in my hand. You may want to wear rubber gloves to prevent that from happening.

For energetically cleaning, there are a number of suggestions that you can find in our Healing Crystals archive.

This is a great question that I am sure others can relate to as well :)

Enjoy your crystal journey!

With love and crystal blessings,
