Copal "Columbian Amber" Beads - We received a limited number of polished beads in assorted free-form and round shapes (note: round shapes not shown) with drilled holes of Copal from Columbia. The hole in the round-shaped beads is drilled all the way through so they can strung together. The free-form shapes have small holes drilled at the top either front-to-back or side-to-side and are great for wire-wrapping or stringing.
To be considered true Amber, resin from pine trees must completely fossilize over a process of 100,000+ years. Most "Columbian Amber" is less than 1,000 years old and has not yet fossilized. Despite the fact that Copal is not yet Amber, Copal will eventually become Amber as it ages and has a very similar vibration.
