There is something intriguing about the unique energy of spheres. Crystal Spheres can be found in a variety of different minerals, and have as many different uses. A sphere can be quite enchanting as you hold one in your hand and gaze into it. In Sacred Geometry, spheres represent wholeness, completeness, and infinite oneness. In nature, spheres show up in the form of planets, stars, oranges, atoms, and bubbles. Humans have repeated the form in their own creations such as balls, ball-bearings, fishing lures, mooring buoys, and the mysterious Costa Rican grandiosity balls. The perfect symmetry of the sphere is pleasing to the eye and comfortable for the hand, and represents the Divine perfection of the Universe. Those seeking spiritual growth and enlightenment will find the spheres quite helpful to their spiritual work. In this article, I will show you some ideas and offer some of my own experiences as evidence of how some of these serenely beautiful forms can work their magic in anyone's life.
Many will recall the infamous "crystal ball" when thinking of spheres, remembering that very clear Quartz Crystal sphere that the gypsy gazes into for seeing the future. Crystal Balls are a wonderful way of scrying indeed, but you don't necessarily need an absolutely clear crystal ball for this purpose. Many fortune tellers actually prefer a crystal ball that has some veils, fractures, and inclusions, as they can help the gazer achieve the necessary receptive state of mind. In fact, some even choose a spheres made of minerals other than Clear Quartz for their gazing. Some may opt for a transparent mineral, like Clear or Smokey Quartz, for their scrying work, while others choose an opaque mineral, such as Obsidian or Black Tourmaline. The difference here is simply a personal preference, where some like to go deep inside the stone with their mind, and others prefer to receive images on the surface. While many scry by receiving images, others a more receptive to thoughts or impulses. With any technique, the key is to relax, enter into a meditative state of mind, and be open to impressions from the crystal.
Crystal Spheres have other uses besides the stereotypical "crystal ball". Crystal-healers have long known that spheres can be carried or worn as protective talismans. When holding a Crystal Sphere, sensitives can feel the subtle energies of the mineral surrounding them in a protective force field. A Crystal Sphere can absorb negative energies, strengthen the aura, and guide the flow of the subtle bodies. When in the form of a sphere, any mineral's metaphysical property will be amplified and sent out in all directions at once. A crystal will have an intensified and far-reaching effect when in spherical form, as opposed to a tumbled stone. Keeping a sphere in a dwelling or work area will have the effect of sending that mineral's vibrations outward to fill the space, influencing those who are nearby.

I have enjoyed the unique energies of the spheres so much, that I have collected eleven different minerals in spherical form, with two duplicate minerals. I have done extensive work with each of them and have also used some in combinations for specific purposes. I can tell you that working with the energies of the spheres can be quite rewarding. While I frequently carry at least one sphere in my pocket, I also enjoy meditating with one or two on a regular basis. Here are a few examples for your own information:
It is well known in the metaphysical world that Crystal Spheres send their energies out in every direction. However it is not commonly known that they can also be used to attract energy inward from all directions as well. In my own experience, I have sensed calm, loving, and peaceful vibrations flowing from all directions, into my left hand that held a sphere of Rose Quartz. At that moment, I was in a relaxed meditative state, holding a Lapis Lazuli Sphere, representative of our Mother Earth, in the other hand. I felt this wonderful energy rushing from my left hand, through my arms, into my right hand, and out into the Lapis Lazuli Sphere, all behind my intent to send peaceful healing vibes to our world and its residents. Although I chose Lapis, you can use other spheres such as Red Jasper or Brecceated Jasper to represent Mother Earth.

This comforting shape of Sacred Geometry seems to suit all types of Quartz. It was evident to me from what I felt with the Rose Quartz, and then reinforced by my next experience with Smokey Quartz. This mineral works slowly and deliberately, so I was not expecting the intensity of energy I was to find with this sphere. Upon receiving my very first Smokey Quartz Sphere, as my hand first held it, I immediately sensed its protective and grounding energies enveloping me like a warm blanket. Since then, I have meditated with this sphere and have received insights into some of my life-experiences. As well as being grounding, Smokey Quartz is a great tool for manifestation work, so the form of a sphere amplifies the energies of this crystal. Also amplified are the stress-relieving, blockage-clearing, and fear-releasing vibes.
Another great sphere event for me was when I was laying down in the bed, holding a Rutilated Quartz Sphere to my Third-Eye Chakra. I fell asleep and ended up in a lucid dream, during which I was able to fly at will. Rutilated Quartz is Quartz that contains the mineral Rutile. The Quartz enhances the Rutile and vice versa. Since Rutilated Quartz is a stone of attunement, grounding of manifestation, and expansion of consciousness, it stands to reason that one could, if they spent some time working with this mineral, make connections with other realms, enhance their intuition and psychic abilities, and increase Divine Inspiration and moments of illumination. Consider these metaphysical properties as they are enhanced by the Sacred Geometry of the sphere.
A few other experiments have included spheres of Lapis Lazuli, Labradorite, Amethyst, Clear Quartz, Ruby, and Hematite. From my own experiences, I can tell you that each one seemed unique somehow, as if the vibrations truly were different from one another. Each mineral carries a unique energy and when in sphere form, these vibrations are thoroughly enhanced. Spheres may make a good alternative for those who are unable to sense the energies of tumbled or natural minerals.

With the many varieties of Crystal Spheres available for purchase out there, it may be hard to decide which one is for you. Ultimately, that would depend on what your goals are. The sphere will amplify the natural tendencies of the mineral out of which it is made, so knowing your metaphysical stones can help you to decide. If you are interested in spiritual work, you might enjoy working with a sphere of Clear Quartz or Amethyst. If you are in need of some grounding energies, then Smokey Quartz, and Hematite might be best for you. A warm and vibrant life-force energy can be transmitted from a Ruby sphere. Those who are working on their psychic abilities would be interested in Sodalite. Mental processes can be enhanced when working with Fluorite. Anyone doing manifestation work might try a sphere made of Smokey Quartz, Rutilated Quartz, or Clear Quartz. Healing energy can be found in Green Aventurine, Green Quartz, Smokey Quartz, and Clear Quartz. As you can see, the possibilities are endless.

If you are interested in working with spheres, but do not have any goals in mind, then you might consider trying a Clear Quartz or Smokey Quartz Sphere. People who are new to working with crystals, or any aspect of working with crystals, they are generally advised to start out with a member of the Quartz family, especially Clear Quartz. As the Master-Healer of the mineral kingdom, you cannot go wrong with this crystal, and in spherical form, its energies are amplified.

Crystal Spheres have a wonderfully holistic energy to them, and can be rewarding to work with. They can act as protectors, healers, or amplifiers of intent, sending their energies out in all directions, while absorbing negative energies in their environment. They can be worn, carried, or displayed. If you are new to spheres and wish to learn more, the best thing to do is start with one and see what you feel from it. It doesn't have to be large, but as a first, medium to large would be best, so you are able to gaze at or into it without straining your eyes. It may not happen immediately, but after some time spent getting to know it, you will most likely find that your sphere has a unique vibration unlike any other crystal you've had.
