Aragonite, when banded, is an opaque brown stone with varying forms of tan and cream striping and patterned banding. It is an orthorhombic crystal, which means it has three mutually perpendicular axes of unequal length, and often appears flat or as a cluster of thin blades. In cluster form, it is known as "Spudnik" Aragonite and it can look peachy-brown and transparent.

| I have experienced spontaneous kundalini awakening with intense and disturbing symptoms such as intense anxiety and hypersensitivity to external stimuli years ago, and I am looking for remedies, such as a crystal, that can slow things down and allow my spiritual body to grow in its own peaceful pace. Do any of you know and advise me of whether aragonite star cluster can be helpful in such case? For some reason I feel drawn to this crystal.  As I understand it, aragonite is a "dry" carbonate, which basically is mother-of-pearl, among other examples shown. A dry carbonate will help either slow down an unnatural reaction that is occurring too quickly or speed up one that is occurring too slowly. Even though it has the same chemical formula as calcite, these do not belong to the same crystalline family. Aragonite is an orthorhombic carbonate while calcite is a trigonal carbonate. Calcite speeds up processes that are too slow and then stabilizes them; but aragonite does the opposite. In other words it is calcite not aragonite that raises vibrational energies in the body. Aragonite slows down things growing too fast or moving through the body too quickly for metabolic actions to be achieved properly. I would use aragonite against tumour growth, for example.
